Rehabilitation by definition is to restore function with whatever is remaining. It may help in cases where the muscles have lost their tone and function of keeping the organs in place, especially pelvic floor muscles, which maintain the situation of uterus, anal canal, urinary bladder etc. Lax muscles seldom cause pain. So by pelvic floor rehab, improving the pelvic floor muscles may improve their tone, but may not help the painful intercourse. Most common causes of painful intercourse are lack of lubrication vaginal dryness, pelciv infection uterine, ovarian tumors endometriosis. In some ladies they have a condition called" vaginismus" where the muscles around the vagina undergo an intense spasm when vaginal entry is attempted at coitus. This is severely painful and here improving tone will add fuel to the fire. In this condition the patient is in fact taught to use breathing and relaxing exercises to relax the muscles as the penetration is attempted. So it would be better to get your self evaluated by a gynec for your painful intercourse and take the needful treatment. Just doing pelvic floor rehab exercises will not help.
