Which toothpaste should I use for my baby?
Ask Free Question
How old is the baby? considering its age, the amount of toothpaste can range from a very small pinch til the size of a peanut. Whichever amount applicable, baby toothpastes are the one with the amount of a chemical called fluoride with concentration no more than 550 ppm. You can find the detail usually on the bottom-most portion of the toothpaste. You can see it in our regular adult toothpastes as well, where it reads 1000 ppm. Another easy way to identify baby toothpaste is the wrapper. The bright colored tubes with various cartoon characters painted on them are meant for babies and kids. If you are looking for a brand name, what I advise my patients is that baby toothpastes are all the same in function. There is no difference like the one for sensitivity or one for brighter teeth etc. The best way to buy one is to take the baby or kid to the shop, ask the shopkeeper to show various toothpastes and whichever the kid picks, buy it. Because that way they will be encouraged to use it daily and hence improve their oral health. I hope this clarifies your question. Thanks. Have a great day!
