Mr Somnath, There are a few things you can do : 1) Diet control has to be very strict, total intake has to be regulated so that exact caloric need is met, and no extra food is taken in. 2) Patient has to exercise daily for at least 1 hour, brisk walking is best. 3) Avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Also avoid sweetened aerated drinks, fruit juices(packed), ghee, butter and high fat cheese. 4) She has to consume green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits (100 g a day). 5) Monitor her fasting, PP and at times predinner sugar levels to adjust Insulin dosage. The above routine has to be strictly followed. If you need any specific advice please come in a private conversation with details like fasting and PP levels, HbA1c%, type of insulin taken with dosage, dietary pattern and extent of daily exercises. Then I will be able to guide specifically. All the best.
