Yes, it can happen so. If the cappings are old, or you have conditions such as diabetes, you can get spacing in between the two.
Alternatively, please check whether the capping is loose. In either case please visit your neighbourhood dentist.
You have two options. The gaping can be filled with cement. If the gap is more you need to get new bridge. Second option is the best.
