Nicotine, whether chewed or smoked, stays in your in your urine or saliva and can be detected by tests. In urine tests, nicotine can usually be detected for 3-4 days, but in more passive smokers, it can remain for up to 15-20 days. In a saliva test, which is the most accurate test, nicotine can be detected for more than 10 hours or up to 2-4 days.
