Why I am having very less cervical mucus and only clear jelly like discharge (once or twice a week) all of a sudden. I am 19 years old and also taking iron and folic acid tablets.

Cervical secretions vary from individual to individual. It is more during sexual stimulation and also during ovulation. It is decreased, when there is stress or psychological trauma or mental shock aroused by the death of a close family member or friend. It is lowered when you are using anti estrogenic drugs like clomiphene. Estrogen preparations like premarine 0.625 mg orally and evalone cream locally can be useful. Mucus stimulating drugs like cervifen also effective.

Hi lybrate-user. No need to worry if the discharge is less or jelly like. Sometimes because of hormonal changes like wen egg releases then these changes will be there. Please maintain hygiene, and cotton panties and pad during periods. Stop hair removal creams as few ppl have side effects with it. Continue taking those tablets no problem. Let me know your marital status please?
