My gums are bleeding for a few weeks now, I dnt have a gr8 oral hygiene, NY shift and work barely gives me time to visit a doc.

Bleeding gums indicates pyorrhoea. Scaling once in a year is mandatory. It will definitely sort out your problem of bleeding gums. Post scaling you can maintain your gums health by rinsing with warm salt water and gum massaging.
