I am having boils in armpits - which appears to be a chronic situation. Have been taking tb medication as afb was detected positive in the pus culture test. I have been taking medicines for two years now. Earlier, a doctor in aiims prescribed azithral and other antibiotics for the cure like augmentin for 6 months straight. Then had a 9 months course of tb medicine which could curb the infection. But again another lump developed in the other armpit after 4 months of stopping the medicine. 2nd course of the same medicine is being followed now and I have both armpits infected now. The pus discharge is minimal but the lump remains as it is and the medicines do not seem to affect after 6 months of the second course. Surgery is the only option left for me, as I do not want to harm other organs taking about 3000 mg of medication for close to two years now. Will it be non-recurrent after the surgery and whether to go for cauterization or incision and drainage (i&d)
