My son is 18 years old. He is taking telekast l 10 mg often (alternate days even on summer for more than 10 years). I am worried of its side effects. But he can't stop it. Some times he gets wheezing at that time alone he use inhalers. How can he come out of this. Please give me a better solution.

Get lung function tests. If diagnosis is asthma. Then appropriate inhaler therapy will give better control and help to stop monteleukast. This drug does have cardiac and immunologic side effects on a long term basis.
