I am 58 years old with Diabetic History of 15 years. During my routine check of eyesight I am told that I have catract in priliminary stage. My doctor says it is better to get operated in early stage. is this correct.

If you have minor problem in seeing then you can wait for 3-4 months and then get reviewed again. But if you delay cataract to late stages then it is difficult to handle. As you told it's in early stages and if no major visual problem then you can wait.
