My fiancee has braces and she wants them removed for our wedding. However the orthodontist has conveyed a) if she doesn't remove braces, it will take around 2-3 months more for filling in the gap b) if she removes the braces even for a fortnight, she will have to invest another year with braces. He has also suggested for a retainer for lifetime. I definitely want advise as shes kind of depressed to invest another year and the lifelong retainer. Is it really required? She underwent procedure to just pull back the teeth which were slightly protruding and has had braces for over a year and half now.
