Sir/madam, I am using insulin humalog mix25/75 and using bd needle 4 mm. Some says we should pinch the skin and take insulin shot some says no need to pinching the skin for 4 mm needle. Can I pinch the skin or take directly? I like to pinch the skin for avoiding going into muscle. I take insulin in abdomen. Even if pinching is not necessary can I still pinch the skin and take insulin shot?

Skin for most people is around 2.7 to 3 mm in thickness. So with 4 mm needles pinching might not be necessary since without pinching also the Insulin would enter subcutaneous tissue and not muscle tissue.
