I had pain and a little low hearing in left ear 3-4 months back. I consulted a doctor and he said that ear wax is present and it has to be removed. He gave me ear drop and said it will come out automatically. It didn't. But the pain stopped after homeopathic Medicine. Now yesterday suddenly I started feeling day to day things as very loud like fan, flush, my voice everything was very loud and when I covered my left ear, it was bit ok. What is the problem and how should I get treated? I have had Removal of wax quite a many times in childhood and the way doctor has done it was very painful and I even fainted due to the pain. He put a ring sort of thing to keep the ear open and then spread some liquid with force and cleared the wax. Is there a less painful way to remove wax?

Only way to decrease your pain is use soliwax or dewax drops number of times as possible for 1 week. Syringing is an alternative that is less painfull provided you have no hole in your ear drum. Syringing with lukewarm water should be done by consultant not at home.
