Prolapse intervertebral disc also known as PIVD is quite common disease now a days. The treatment for large extruded disc is largely surgery. But before embarking on surgery one should confirm the clinical signs are corresponding with the site of lesion. There are few cases where even large discs are treated succesfully with medicine especially when medical comorbities restrict surgical treatment. One should consult a qualified neurosurgeon at the earliest as delay on treatment can cause transient or permanent neural damage.
