the blackness can be either decay or calculus deposits. if it's calculus, you will need to go for scaling and polishing of teeth. if decay is there, you will need to get it removed n the cavity filled with appropriate material. for teeth maintenance, brush twice daily n use a mouthwash afterwards. gargle forcefully with water after you eat or drink anything. avoid sticky and sweet food, aerated drinks.

Dear Lybrate user, no treatment can change the natural tooth color but you can maintain healthy white teeth by brushing twice daily, visiting your dentist at least twice a year and staying away from tobacco, excess black coffee, red wine and other such products which easily stain the teeth. You can get a professional cleaning/scaling done to get rid of the stains on your teeth near gum area. There are certain options available to whiten the teeth like bleaching, lase whitening, zoom whitening etc. The results however are temporary and also depend on your dietary and lifestyle habits. The results usually go away after 6-12 months. Visit your local dentist and choose the best suitable option for yourself.
