I have small lumps all over my body, like in my arms, wrist, abdominal area, thighs. They vary in size. Generally, not painful to touch, but sometimes a bit painful. It maybe genetic as my mother also has these.

Yes they can be genetic. They are usually lipoma if they are beneeth the skin and smooth. Only lipomas that are painful or if they have sudden increase in size should be surgically removed. Generally they are benign and cause no harm. Hope this answers your concern. Have a great and healthy day.
