Around 8 months ago, I was working out with a friend. She asked me to help her stretch her back and asked me to keep going. I went ahead and I think she pulled a back muscle. We visited 2 doctors and took x-rays and the reports showed normal. 8 months later, she says she took another x-ray and apparently a couple of her discs have slipped and degenerated. There is no need for surgery now, and that she should do some physiotherapy, but in the future she is more vulnerable to being injured. In the future, if something should happen, will I be held accountable for that?

Nothing serious will happened in future. Don't worry just consult a physiotherapist, and continue his prescribed exercises accordingly.
