Hello Lybrate user. Seems like you have developed ankle instability .first time when you had ankle sprained .u haven't done proper training or rehab of those muscle which are responsible to prevent or stop going ankle in that position which leads to lateral ankle sprain. I would suggest to apply ice packs, do taping in order to stable and heal injured ligaments .once the pain subsided do strengthening exercise to ankle muscle and then proprioception training .this will prevent future reoccurrence.
