Even we both are having some words disputes in which I always harsh on her and for which I think it should not be done as I found to be guilty. When we sometime have a mood to do for a baby we need something to help like laptop/movie to have some mood to reach out there to do. I hope you understand. Also we can not do for long last and complete withing 10 minutes. I am taking some medicines also of himalaya like Gokshura/seacod/ and one more virkshmala. Hi lybrate-user, first of all, de stress yourself, this is a part and phase of life not your whole life, do not let it define you. The stress you are taking will take toll on your body and it is because of this reason that you are not excited enough when its time to get intimate. Don't think about baby while having sex, think of it as something that gives you pleasure focus on your partner. Do not smoke, drink, have dark chocolates and fresh fruits, more garlic and dates. Do kegels exercise for sustained erection. You need some therapy for your stress too. Consult a psychologist. You can consult me for same. All the best.

Work is a part of life, work is not life. One tends to be addicted to work for various reasons 1. You enjoy what you do 2. You are not confident about the work quality and therefore keep at it so that no one can point out mistakes 3. You feel if you are not worried about your work, that means you are not a responsible person. 4. You have no hobbies or plan for what to do after work. Assess what is your reason for being a workaholic. Set daily targets for yourself and while planning your day in the morning itself plan for the family time. Avoid going on the social media, rather start with whatever is easiest for you to do - chatting with a friend, family member, pursuing a hobby (social networking is not a hobby- it is an escape from the real world).

Hello, I am suffering from extreme depression from last one year. I failed in exams, as a result. I tried to overcome on my own but now it is becoming worse. I cant concentrate on studies, cant enjoy things, my brain always is in worry & always tensed, dont know when I smiled last tym, a temporary relief I get is only when I go out with friends but after reaching home again I forget to smile or if I go to gym. Every morning I cant wake up early. I always feel tired and my mind tensed. And what is even worse is my allergy. Every morning I get up with running nose and countless sneezes. Dust and particle allergy is to blame. Can I beat this stress with medicines, are medicines effective in depression, I wanna feel light and active and ofcourse happy like when I was in college?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

The allergy is a sign of grief, and so is the depression. It is good that you have identified what activities help you and what do not. Now I recommend that you meet with a counselor soon and talk to the person about all these problems. You will be guided well, and you will also need to know about emotions and how to deal with them. It is good you like the company of your friends and can therefore keep in touch with them often and for long durations. In other words, do everything possible in your spare time to be with people. If you are staying with your family, then the other times can be spent with them until you have to sleep. Do not sleep beyond 6.30 am, every day. Get into a healthy routine of exercise, good diet, and proper sleep habits, soon. Exercise is really good for a lot of reasons but primarily because the aerobic exercise stimulates the brain to product natural antidepressants. The allergy too will disappear over time. There is some sadness from your past that is the culprit. Can you identify it? if not, the counselor will help you. The sadness will naturally precipitate a lot of tears. That too you must do with someone, never alone. Be committed to the therapy. If the counselor thinks that you need medical intervention, that person will surely send you to a doctor for psychiatric consultation.

I am 47 years old. I forget lot of things. I have short of memory. I am unable to take a decision immediately. Sometimes I feel very low about future security.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Your brain is like a muscle. You need to exercise it regularly. The exciting thing is that you don’t have to be a millionaire to increase your brain capacity. All you need to do is invest a little time to regularly train your brain. So what can you do? Here are 10 simple ways you can increase your brain power and improve your intelligence! 1. Do something new When you experience something ‘new’ you actually ‘stimulate’ your brain! Don’t get stuck in a rut doing the same old things – the only way to change the structure of your brain is to do something new. This creates new neural pathways, increasing your intelligence. You could take a new route to work, try a new recipe for dinner, or even a new form of exercise – mix it up! 2. Exercise regularly It’s been proven that regular exercise helps to increase brain function and enhances neurogenesis. This means that every time you exercise you are creating new brain cells! Get off the couch and get moving! Your brain will thank you for it :) 3. Train your memory How often do you hear people say “I wish I had a better memory??’ Yet no-one does anything about this! If you discipline yourself to memorise phone numbers and other important numbers (passport, credit card, insurance, driving license) you will start to see a marked improvement in your memory 4. Be curious Instead of taking everything at face value, get into the habit of questioning everyday things/products, services that you come into contact with. By being ‘curious’ and questioning everything, you force your brain to innovate & create new ideas. Curiosity may have killed that cat, more importantly it created super important things like electricity and computers! 5. Think positive Stress & anxiety kill existing brain neurons and also stop new neurons from being created. Research has shown that positive thinking, especially in the future tense, speeds up the creation of cells and dramatically reduces stress & anxiety. Try and get a handle on negative thoughts and make an effort to replace them with positive ones. 6. Eat healthy Our diets have a HUGE impact on brain function. Our brains consume over 20% of all nutrients & oxygen that we consume – so remember to feed your brain with the good stuff! (i.e. fresh fruit and veg & plenty of OMEGA 3 oils found in oily fish) 7. Read a book Reading relieves tension & stress (brain-cell killers) because it’s a form of escapism. Research has also shown that using your imagination is a great way to train your brain because you force your mind to ‘picture’ what you are imagining. Reading is a great way to trigger your imagination! 8. Get enough sleep Sleep is like a mini detox for the brain. This is when your body regenerates cells and removes all the toxins that have built up during the day. Get to bed between the hours of 9pm and midnight to benefit from the most effective hours of sleep! 9. Avoid suing the GPS Gone are the days of map reading! Geo Satellite Navigation may have made our lives easier, it has also made our brains lazier and less efficient at the same time! Go back to the old school and use a map to navigate every now and then (this exercises the part of your brain responsible for understanding spatial relationships). 10. Stop Using the calculator Remember back at school when we were taught to use our brains to do simple sums like times tables?! It’s incredible how we now rely on devices like smart-phones and laptops to calculate really simple equations. Resist the urge to work things out using an external device – and use the device you were born with – your brain!

I am suffering from agoraphobia panic attack anxiety last 2 year I taking regularly allopathic medicine but not improve.

Psychologist,
I am suffering from agoraphobia panic attack anxiety last 2 year I taking regularly allopathic medicine but not improve.
Allopathy medicines will only do symptomatic relief work but not re obe the cause of the illness. Panic and anxiety occurs when people feel unsafe and threatened in social situations thus refusing to socialise. Counselling can help you by slowly empowering you to integrate back I to the society as this is a basic need for humans. The counsellor will help you to work through the outdated thoughts and beliefs which create the panic attack and replace them with more helpful and updated thoughts and beliefs which will make you feel in control ant confident from within. A swot analysis will help you to discover your own personal strengths and limitations which you can use and sharpen to feel and behave more confidently. 2. Having a realistic picture of yourself and of people around you will help you calm down as well. 3. Doing deep breathing exercises and pranayams are very helpful for people with anxiety and panic. It will help you to remain calm and assess the situation more realistically. 4. Gradual exposure to the thratening situation under the guidance of the counsellor will help you to reduce anxiety and stress. 5. Exercise exercise exercise. This is most important for you to feel confident and good aboit yourself. Initially you can choose a lonely place but gradually you will need to exercise with fellow human beings because we can't thrive in isolation and can die of loneliness. 6. Healthy die which is low on sugars and processed foods is a must. High sugar, fats and processed foods are linked to anxiety and panic attacks as it elevates the blood sugar causing irritability and anxiety.

Sir how I can increase my brain memory. I forget things after some times usually. Please sir suggest me a better solution for increase brain memory.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

Just follow these instructions meticulously. At your age I suspect that the adolescent issues with regard to hormones may be affecting your ability to concentrate. When the hormones play up, it lasts for a period of close to two years and during that time you could be influenced by three signs directly impacted by the chemicals: you will tend to become aggressive and rebellious, you will become sexually active, and you will have acne and pimple problems. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid all junk food.

I understand you are having some sort of multiple symptoms and not related to any specific disease. Do a blood test and find any inflammation anywhere in the body loss of appetite and energy loss might be due to sometimes mild depression for which you may try yoga nad meditation asasp.

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, (MRCPSYCH-UK)
Psychiatrist,
If you are an occasional smoker - with public messages, health awareness programs and your own doctors advice, you can quit. If you are a regular smoker, motivational therapy with a trained psychotherapist or a psychiatrist and enormous will power will help you quit. If you are a diseased smoker, consult a de addiction psychiatrist at the earliest. He may give you anti-smoking medications and de addiction treatment.

My age is 23 yrs. Preparing for govt. Exams for last 2 years ,my exams are in next few weeks and this is going to be my last attempt as I already wasted two precious years of my life. Still I don't feel like studying I am tensed and stressed I know if I fail this time also my life is going to be miserable .all people around me of my age group have a job but still I am not working hard to get a job for myself. I think l lost interest in these exams. I am not a hard working person. Earlier I use to study but for few months I don't feel like doing anything just sitting thinking negative ,getting frustrated and stressing unnecessary instead of studying. I think this year also I am not going to be selected. I am getting frustrated as I know I am not working hard so I won't be able to clear this time also. Nobody in my family can understand what I am feeling and going through. I have a lot of personality issues timid ,introvert ,negative thinking ,rigid ,poor communications skills (I cannot even talk to sales or customer care people ,imagine my level )and many more bad qualities. Also have no friends for like so many years .These two years also enhanced my personality problems as I mostly stayed indoors and appearance wise also gained a lot of weight. I don't like going out. Also when I think of other alternatives (if not selected) I feel I won't be able to sustain as I am low confident and not able to make friends .i hv a negative outlook of life and I feel everything in future is going to be negative. Not moving forward in life no growth just stagnant like a tree ,all the people / friends I use to know are doing wonderful thing s in life and growing each day and I still the same as I used to be. Right now I'm feeling depressed and hopeless.

Dear Kajal, I can understand the problems you are facing and the situation you are in. I think it is best for you to consult a good mental health expert in your locality at the earliest. I can suggest a few things here, but considering that your exams are fast approaching, we need to work out a relatively quick and effective solution which may not be possible here.So please do not delay any further as the way you are feeling can be altered making your studies more effective and help you in succeeding in your exams. You are going through extended grief reaction, which is normal after loss of a loved one. Time is the healer for the emotional and behavioral changes, however if your depression is severe enough to affect you in a significant manner, kindly consult a psychiatrist for short term antidepressant medication, depending on the complaints. Since more than 1 year, surely you need to consult.

Anxiety and depression go together often. But like many people you too have not been combining medication with therapy. This combination is ideal if you want good and lasting results. You must, therefore, go and meet with a counselor immediately and you must cooperate with both therapies to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Hi Mayur, Rather than searching for drugs to boost your memory and attention, I'd suggest you focus on doing the basics right. By basics, I mean, sleeping for at least 7 hours, eat small meals at regular intervals, exercise regularly, and take short 2-5 minute breaks after every 45 minutes of studying. Also, spend at least half hour each day, doing something you enjoy doing, like listening to music, playing an outdoor sport, or cook, anything that makes you happy. Your mind needs refreshing, and doing the things I've mentioned above will help you achieve that. Good luck.
