Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

What are the symptoms of malaria?
Symptoms of malaria develop within 1-4 weeks following the infection. Like: high fever with shaking chills profuse sweating headache nausea/vomiting diarrhea/bloody stools anemia muscle pain seizures coma dragging heavy sensation in abdomen (enlarged spleen). Symptoms may appear in cycles. Episodes of symptoms may occur every 48 hours in infection with p. Vivax or p. Ovale. This cycle of symptoms is also one of the major signs that you are infected with malaria.

In my family no one is diabetic, my age is 36, blood sugar was before brake fast 81 and after that 181 in urine 7.5. My weight is 80 and I have knee pains and gyniac problem of dismenohrea due to this I am facing lots of difficulties like vomiting, abdominal pain, over bleeding for 3 days. I dont know what to do. Daily two times I use to take chapati & tea for 2 times, one time rice, is it okay. I will control my diet. I am having 6 years old daughter she is so small. Sir please tell me what I do?

It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take.

Hydrocele is collection of fluid in scrotum this has to be removed only surgically no medicines will help.

1.Do regular exercise 2.Reduce weight if overweight 3Control diet 4.Avoid sweets, sugar/honey, excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet, avoid all refined food like maida, pasta, starchy food like rice, potato,.include more fiber like pulse,green leafy vegetable, legume. Avoid sweetened fruit like banana,mango,litchi,chickoo,sapota,seethaphaljack fruit,grape etc.avoid white/polished rice, take unpolished rice like brown rice/wheat/Jowar/Ragi,moong and chana Dal. Avoid ghee/ butter./coconut oil/excess salt intake like papad/pickle. Avoid red meat.take fish/chicken. Avoid alcohol and carbonated drinks like soft drink 5.Adhere to a strict diabetic diet by consulting Dietitian 6.Monitor your fasting, PP blood sugar and Hba1c three monthly 7.Consult diabetologist for advice and treatment

Dear , I would like to applaud the fact that you are concerned about the health issues of diabetes and are looking to monitor your sugar levels and take adequate protection for the amelioration of the issue. Diabetes comes with a number of issues, especially related to the heart, kidneys, eyes and blood vessels. Maintaining a good blood sugar level is essential for protecting your organs. For holistic control of blood sugar, the following are essential and I would be glad to go over them in more details in consultation: a. Diabetic diet, which limits you to 1600 kcal per day (could be less/more, depending on your bmi) and is supplemented with regular aerobic exercise. B. Maintenance of blood sugar, and regular monitoring of fasting and after meal sugars using a glucometer and by hba1c measurement once every 3-4 months. C. Baseline estimation of lipids, kidney function, ophthalmoscopy, heart work up, etc. To have an idea of any other organ impairment. D. Preventive and curative drugs for various issues. I would be happy to provide details on these issues if you so deem pertinent. Best regards.

Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem kindly follow advises given below: you can take: 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4. We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.

Continue medicines as advised. You need diet modification. Don't eat cabbage and red meat. Take some analgesics now for pain relief. Reduce weight.

1.Avoid sun exposure between 10 a.m. And 4 p.m. The sun's rays are strongest during these hours, so try to schedule outdoor activities for other times. If you're unable to do that, limit the length of time you're in the sun. Seek shade when possible. 2.Cover up. Wear tightly woven clothing that covers you, including your arms and legs. Consider wearing clothing or outdoor gear specially designed to provide sun protection. Also wear a broad-brimmed hat, which protects you better than a baseball cap or golf visor does. 3.Use sunscreen frequently and generously. No matter what your skin type is, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater. Apply sunscreen generously, and reapply it every two hours — or more often if you're swimming or perspiring. 4.Wear sunglasses when outdoors. You offer your eyes the best protection outdoors by choosing the highest UV protection-rated sunglasses. Darker lenses are not necessarily better at blocking UV rays. Check the UV rating on the label when buying new glasses. 5.Consume more Vitamin D. While the sun helps us to manufacture vitamin D, consuming vitamin D rich foods like fermented cod liver oil and/or supplementing with quality source of oral vitamin D3 can in turn help to protect us from the UV radiation of the sun.

1. Take one clove after every meal and chew it. This is very effective natural cure to reduce bad breath. 2. Chew some cardamom seeds to get rid of bad breath. 3. Chewing a few mint leaves frequently can get rid of bad breath and it is a good mouth freshener too. Diet- 1. Increase the intake of foods rich in zinc as they help in preventing bad breath. Zinc helps maintain the anaerobic bacteria balance inside the mouth to keep it free of foul smell. 2. Increase intake of vitamin c and vitamin e rich foods. 3. Drink lots of water to keep mouth and body well hydrated. 4. Avoid constipation.
