Hi, 4. 6 years back I had femur bone injury and at that time surgery was with rod placement but after 4. 6 years also the bone not attached and recently 15 days back when iam walking the rod inside was broken and the doctor suggested that in some people the bone might not form let go another surgery with pelvis bone replacement in gap of femur bone. And 10 days back I had a surgery with pelvis bone replaced in the gap of femur bone. My worry is till 4 years the bone not grown now is it will grow after replaced with pelvis bone please give me suggestion

Dear, sometimes the bones at fracture site are unable to form good new bone. In this case your nail broke due to continuous micro movement at the fracture site. Your doctor did the right thing to revise the fracture, freshen the edges and put in a healthy bone graft from the pelvis. Pelvis bone has more healing potential than femur. Send me a picture of your xrays so that I can give a better opinion.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

This is due to mu as cular spasms. Have plenty of water. You can spray muscle relaxant like volini spray or ointment. Andnrestbto the affected part sometimes. It will be alright.

Back pain can result from bad posture, a sudden jerky movement, a lumpy mattress or poor lifting techniques. Our modern, sedentary lifestyles have a profound effect on the development of back pain; indeed one of the most effective ways of preventing it is simply to stay active. An average adult in the India spends at least two hours a day in front of a computer screen or television set, and back problems can be triggered if they don’t sit properly. In an age of mobile phones and computer games, such troubles are increasingly inflicting children of school age as well. Top tips for back care: For back pain, better to see your Doctor sooner than later. Take regular exercise – your Doctor can say what’s right for you. Hours in one position can cause problems – avoid computer ‘hump’. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch. Pace yourself with heavy work such as gardening – don’t risk a disc! Watch children’s posture – they shouldn’t carry bags on one shoulder or spend too long at a computer without breaks. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly small children and shopping. Your bed could be part of the problem. Seek Doctor advice on choosing a new one. Take a hot bath or shower, soaking in a hot tub, or using a heating pad, hot water bottle, or heat wrap that provides continuous, low-level heat are all ways to bring healing warmth to your lower back.

It seems you are suffering from nerve compression. Whenever a back nerve compresses or impinge it creates pain over its nerve root. After looking to your pain I am recommending you something: Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Place pillow under your legs while sleeping or can opt sidelying position for sleep. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine and other bones. 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the intervertebral disks. 7. Avoid prolonged standing. 8. Change your sitting position every 15 minutes so that it does not pain. If possible visit some neuro-physio who can give you several modalities like SWD, IFT, traction etc to cure the pain. Along with it we have a special program designed in case of sciatica that is Butler’s mobilisation and Mckenzie exercises which a physio gives with the proper technique to get cure from disease. I understand your pain so I am suggesting you the following treatment that you can take at home and can get some relief from pain and discomfort. Treatment: 1. Use of Cold packs- Sometimes piriformis muscle gets tight which cause impingement of sciatic nerve leading to tingling and numbness sensation down into the leg. So ice massage can be given over the area of piriformis muscle or the entire back for 15 min. Once done with cold therapy take rest for 2-3 min to relax the muscles. 2. Since the pain is radiating you can do some below mentioned exercises which will give you immediate relief from pain if done correctly. A) Lie on bed on your stomach gently push up with your arms, resting on your forearms. Hold for 5 secs. Now slightly stretch your back muscles and count till 10 and relax. You might feel a slight pain initially but do not worry. Repeat it 15 times. B) Now that pain must have gone. And now you can push up onto your hands fully. Slowly lower down back to floor. Perform this atleast 15 times. Again a slight pain will be there initially. Once you will complete this exercise program your pain will be relieved right away. If pain is severe while doing the exercise then stop doing the exercise and immediately consult some physio to take care further. Other exercises that can be done in sciatica pain are: 1. Straight leg raising 2. Knee to chest. 3. Hamstring stretch. 4. Back extensors stretches and strengthening. 5. Gluteal stretch. All the above can be done for 10-15 times with the hold (stretch) time of 5 -6 secs Make sure to perform the exercises correctly which will give you relief from your pain and strengthen your muscles. Dear sir any fracture needs protection. A hairline fracture not treated properly can lead to longstanding pain. Best treatment will be to rest the foot and get it splinted. Plaster of paris/ fibre cast below knee is the best way of protection. Minimum period of 4 weeks.

Nabothian cysts usually do not cause problems in conceiving. Usually they disappear on their own. They can be opened and drained if they are large and causing distortion of cervical canal. Otherwise it is not a problem for IVF.

Neck Pain - Common Reasons Behind It!

The neck is one of the most important parts of the human body, as it connects the head with the rest of the body and renders precious mobility to the former. The neck consists of a number of vertebrae that start from the skull and end in the upper torso. There are also cervical discs that can absorb shock and allow motion along with the bones, ligaments and muscles that render support. Injuries, anomalies, inflammation and other causes may lead to neck pain which can cause severe problems if not treated properly and on time.

Read on to know more about the causes of neck pain.

  1. Muscle Tension and Strain: If you sit at a desk and work for too long without changing your position often enough, then the discomfort will gradually lead to chronic pain and inflammation due to the poor posture. Also, maintaining a poor posture while sitting, standing and walking can all lead to this kind of pain. The muscles of the neck can also suffer strain due to neck jerks during gym sessions of exercising. Also, if you sleep with your neck in a bad position, this can lead to neck and shoulder pain which can last for several days.
  2. Injury: The neck is a sensitive and delicate area that we take for granted many times. This part of the body is most susceptible to injuries which can be caused due to falls, car accidents, sports and other such occasions where the muscles as well as the ligaments of the neck may be forced out of their normal range, leaving the body in acute and severe pain. A fracture of the cervical vertebrae or the neck bones can also lead to neck pain which can take several weeks and months to get fully repaired. Sudden jerking of the head can also cause neck pain and neck injury. This motion is known as a ‘whiplash’.
  3. Heart Attack: Did you know that a heart attack can also give you neck pain? That’s right neck pain is one of the symptoms of a heart attack along with excessive sweating, nausea, pain in the arm and the jaw line, as well as shallow breathing and shortness of breath. If you do experience such symptoms along with sudden neck pain, then you will need to call the emergency unit of the hospital or a doctor immediately.
  4. Meningitis: This condition refers to the inflammation of the thin tissue surrounding the spinal cord as well as the brain. Headaches and a stiff neck are the most common and persistent symptoms of this condition. This can also turn out to be a fatality if it is not treated on time.

There is a kind of throbbing pain on right side of right knee when kept in folded position; also have slight pain on inner side left of the right knee. Hello. I have gone through your question about knee pain. I understand your concern. I feel that these symptoms are because of your weight. You will have to reduce your weight. Atleast 15 kg over 2 years period. You need diet modification. Stop oily food. Don't eat rice at night. Very low calories diet at night atleast 2 hours prior to sleeping. Take vitamin B12 medicines. Calcium and Vitamin D medicines. You will feel better.

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is one of the many types of arthritis. "Ankylosing" means joining together or stiffening; "spondylitis" means inflammation of the vertebral bones of the spine. Inflammation of the bones in AS can lead to degeneration, pain, and loss of joint motion. AS typically affects the spine but can been seen in other areas, especially the hips. Ankylosing spondylitis can range from a mild to more severe disease in patients. Ankylosing spondylitis is approximately three times more common in males than females. It is usually diagnosed in young adults, with a peak onset between 20 and 30 years of age. Children may also be affected by a form of AS termed “juvenile ankylosing spondylitis”, seen in children younger than 16 years of age. There is evidence suggesting a strong genetic component in the development of the disease.
AS is a type of arthritis of the spine. It causes swelling between vertebrae, which are the disks that make up your spine, and in the joints between spine and pelvis. Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease. This means immune system, which normally protects body from infection, attacks body's own tissues. The disease is more common and more severe in men. It often runs in families.

Early symptoms include back pain and stiffness. These problems often start in late adolescence or early adulthood. Over time, ankylosing spondylitis can fuse vertebrae together, limiting movement.
