Dear lybrate-user, Brain tumour is almost impossible in your case. Most common cause of headache in your age is chronic tension type headache (CTTH). CTTH is a peri cranial muscle problem. It will improve significantly on medication. So don't worry, good treatment are the just consult psychiatrist. All d best.

Keeping the fingers in water for long duration will lead to this and it is common for all. If you have only numbness in the fingers. Please show it to some neurophysician or send more details.

Do I have dyslexia I always have writing and reading problem I am 20 what should I do?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
At your age you can identify the particular words that pose a problem to you and then write those words down and articulate the letters and the words they form just as a young kid would do; and you will register an audio-visual memory of those particular words to gradually develop an audio-visual impression and memory of the same. It will be even more useful to write the meanings of those words and relate to them as well. You could sing the words and meanings to make a lasting impression. But you should not rush all the methods at once to learn quicker: it will only confuse you and make it even more difficult, and will lead to frustration. In a more advanced situation you can print index cards of those words and learn to memorize them in the same fashion as mentioned above. As time goes by you may get audio books and listen to them often but always in an atmosphere conducive to good listening. If you wish you could also get the help of reading teachers who will professionally take you from simple material to higher material as you advance in the learning program. The audio mode of learning is slower than the visual mode but speed is not an immediate objective, comprehension and word recognition is. It will be a long process but if you are determined, it will be rewarding. You could have benefited from an earlier intervention, like in childhood, if they had noticed and acted then. Please remember that your intelligence is not in question. So it is up to your commitment, sincerity and above all perseverance.

General Physician,
Delay Alzheimer's by Drinking 3 Cups of Coffee a Day

Love coffee? Here's a compelling reason to keep drinking it.

The Journal of Alzheimer's Disease published a study that demonstrated some significant results related to coffee and cognitive function.

Researchers in Florida measured the amount of caffeine in participants by taking blood samples and testing the caffeine plasma levels. They also tested participants' cognitive functioning at the start of the study and categorized people as fitting into one of three categories:
Normal cognitive functioning- Overall, memory, judgment and decision-making were intact.
Mild Cognitive Impairment- Participants displayed some difficulty in cognitive functioning. Mild cognitive impairment often develops into Alzheimer's disease.
Dementia- The individual displayed clear impairments in cognition such as memory deficits, communication, judgment, etc.
After a period of two to four years, researchers found that a higher level of caffeine plasma (greater than 1200 ng/ml) was correlated with the following results:

Stable cognitive functioning (no cognitive decline) was maintained in those who began the study with normal cognition.
A lack of progression to dementia occurred in the participants who began the study in the mild cognitive impairment (MCI) category. This is especially notable because there is usually a high rate of progression from MCI to dementia.
Additionally, a higher rate of progression from mild cognitive impairment to dementia was seen in participants whose caffeine intake was lower.

Psychologist,
Mood swings can be of genetical or psychological origin. You need to determine this. Has he gone through any stress that he couldn' t deal with? you can also try counselling for mood swings which is" talk therapy" where the counsellor will try to understand what' s happening in his life and what are his worries and stress. Ayurveda is another alternative that you can try out. What cannot be found in scans, can be diagnosed by pulse diagnosis. For counselling please click on private chat.
