I am 21 year male and from the childhood itself I was affected a lot by abuse and fighting between my parents. I am very sensitive person and last year the girl I loved the most rejects me. I was so depressed. For the past few months I was lack in empathy. And I am feeling like a matured person. Does this a sign of maturity or sociopathy. But I had my love towards animals and kids. I think I lost my sensitivity. Does this good for me or not.

Everything should be in moderation including your sensitivity. You cannot be a sociopath for these reasons, so do not worry. You are a long way from maturity and that is an ongoing process. But you should meet with a counselor and talk about the disturbances you have experienced during your parents' fights and arguments from childhood. There could be some effects especially emotionally and that learning will help you a lot to become mature and handle yourself with composure. If these influences are affecting your relating to girls could also be identified and sorted out.

I advise please do meditation to relieve stress and anxiety. If there is a medical disease that needs to be treated. Do morning walk/exercise daily. Keep your bowels clear.

He told me that one cannot be in love with someone before 23 years or around till the brain gets fully developed. I have never known the brain to get fully developed by 23 years! And yes, you are all of 18 years and can never say that this is your true love because you are still very young to realize, what true love is. So in all probability you are infatuated, however real this feeling of yours is. Now is there something wrong with infatuation? Don’t you feel great for being in your infatuation? Of course it does and that is all that matters. You just enjoy this feeling and the relationship as long as it lasts. I am also sure that this girl is either the same age or younger than you and so her feelings are also subject to hormones and she is still quite immature. This is a phase all youngsters go through and you need not feel bad about it or feel the need to defend yourself. Just enjoy yourself and let people call it what they want.

Hello lybrate user it's natural feel tense and anxious because of exam results. Our mind and body are connected so any kind of stress would lead to physical symptoms. Try to keep yourself busy, meet friends discuss your concerns with them. It helps when we pour our feelings out. You can also relax yourself by indulging yourself into spa, head massage. It will help in releasing tension and may reduce your headache. All the best.

I will suggest you to take injection vitcofol 2 cc intramuscularly every alternate days for five pricks over the buttocks through a health professional and start chewing a simple gum and follow up with finding.

Hello lybrate-user the best way to overcome these thoughts would be to indulge in your hobby. Maybe you like art or dance or reading or writing? pursuing your hobby will help take your mind off things. Meditation helps greatly too. To completely rid yourself of thoughts, be with it till the storm passes over and you will attain inner peace:)

This question is about a behavioural issue - procrastination. Anything I have to do that will take time and thought I procrastinate. The very easy ones that does not need a thought, I do fast and quick. Basically I don't plan for anything at all and wait for the last moment to take actions. Due to this of late I have been missing on some personal and organizational deadlines which makes me think that procrastination is now baked into my character. Could you advise how can I go about getting courage to do planning and finish off the tough tasks at the earliest time possible?

Procrastination is like one of those bad habits that needs to be broken. It affects ones confidence levels thus making a person doubt his/her ability at times. Please be assured that it can be overcome with a little bit of planning. If you're supposed to finish certain tasks during a day, start with simple tasks and if a task is complex, break the tasks into smaller steps. Encourage yourself to achieve each small step instead of looking at the big task. The satisfaction that you will experience after completion of each step will push you to achieve the next step. If you follow this consistently for a few weeks, you'll notice that your tendency to procrastinate will reduce a good deal.

It is curable. But though you already taking bp medicines I would suggest you take up ayurvedic treatment along with that so that you dependency reduced on allopathy medicines. Your erectile dysfunction problem will get cured altogether in your case you need to take little longer but effectively you may recover.

Dear lybrate user, you have mentioned, that you are reacting to any stimulus, aggressively because you are seeing these objects as a threat to your life. By reacting like this you are trying to protect yourself. It appears to me that either you have learnt this behaviour from your father or mother or any other relative who was with you when you were growing up. So this is like a" learnt" reaction, which is faulty, now, to overcome this, you need to do the following: 1. Every morning or evening, whenever you can spare 20 minutes - sit at a quiet place. Close your eyes, take 10 deep breaths. With closed eyes try to look inside your body. Understand that this body can protect itsel. Now imagine, that there is a soothing white light, which is a source of energy, above your head. With a calm mind, start receiving that soothing light through your head. Concentrate on all your body parts starting with your head, ending with your toes. Imagine that all your body parts are receiving that soothing light. Just continue imagining this for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes take another 10 deep breaths and imagine that all your body parts have become more powerful now. Do this exercise everyday at lease for 3 months. Also understand that you are very young and full of strength. Go to gym at least thrice a week. This will make your body stronger. Once you have stronger body, you will be more confident about yourself. Everyday tell yourself that you are strong enough to protect yourself. After about 3 months, start looking at pictures of small insects, animals etc in the book/magazine, from a distance. Find information about them and learn how to tame, how to protect yourself from them etc. After a week touch these pictures. Then tell yourself that the pictures do not harm you. Later on slowly, try to be familiar with actual real insects or animals (you can take help of your friends or a counsellor). Please understand that you are huge in size if you compare yourself with these insects/animals. You do have more power and you do have more matured brain than theirs' you need to know, that, with the above exercise, you have gained more power. Every morning and at night, before going to bed, tell yourself that you are very strong and you can protect yourself. Tell yourself that you need to be calm all the time, because when you are calm, you can take better decisions. You also may take help from a cousellor, who can find out the reason for your abnormal reactions and help you to get rid of such embarrassing situations.

Hi, you are weak you should take proper diet you take 5 meals in a day in frequent intervals and don't skip breakfast. Include fruits and vegetables in your daily diet. Include protein rich food in your diet. Take healthy and heavy breakfast. You need to go for meditation to reduce your stress and to build up your stamina as well to feel strong from within.

Dear Doctor, I would like to know how exactly an anti depressant works? Primarily if the course duration for the medication is for 6 months and after that it needs to be tapered down, I would like to know whether the medicine does the job to permanently restore the chemical imbalance in the brain or it just bring it to normal balance and the person can be subject to another episode during a stressful situation after the course of the medicine. I am asking this as this is a vital information that I am not able to find answers to as I am dealing with a depression affected patient at home and would like to get more education in the background of this treatment and how long is the effect of antidepressants going to stay with the patient. Dear lybrate-user regarding your qwery about depression the medication and brain chemical imbalances. Medicines can be of great help but along with it she needs to get therapies too medicine alone will not solve the problem. Of you have stomach ache will you have pain killers to subside the pain everytime your stomach ache or you go to a Dr. To know the real cause n then the solution for it. It is adviced that you take the person to a clinical psychologist. Hope it helps.

actually I don't get peace of mind from last 2 years I am suffering. I need counselling. You daily routine feels to you boredom. You thoughts are enemy to you. No enemy to you. You are not searching for new things in life. You alone thinking yourself all aspects which is not relevant to you. Then you negative thoughts that disturbs your life. I think you are maintaining distance from others. No close friends alone you are thinking yourself and trouble yourself. Man is a social animal. Every day we have some negative thoughts to us. That we have share others. Then we get relief. Thinking alone is not good. Better to share your inner thoughts and internal frustration to your close friends and family friends. Then will advice you and guide you. We cannt do alone everything. We need always others support in all aspects. Not direct help. Indirectly they will give much relief to our life situations. So better to share your thoughts to others. Do not think unrelated aspects. Read always positive thoughts books. That will change your thought process. Think and express positive thoughts. Your mind is also think like that. Obviously, management will repose more faith int eh old employees. You will have to prove your worth and trustworthiness and will have to bear this injustice (if I may call that so). With your qualification and experience, you must know that. One way to show that you are good at your work and different than the other two is to make written reports and submit to the management, especially if they differ from their perception. Written documents do not lie and remain as evidence. This will obviously take time and careful timing. Anyway, one of the tools of discipline is, the ability to delay gratification. Be patient and use discernment and wisdom in your interventions. You can only​ succeed.

I have a cousin sister whom I love very much. She's the best friend if mine and only mentor with whom I share all my personals. Like me she also shares her secrets with me only and we are like two bodies one soul. Now she's getting married in next February and also got engaged. We both people can't live without talking with other fir at least a single day. But after her marriage, the situations will not be like this and we both are very much tensed about this. Especially me, I am becoming very weak and always thinking about her. I definitely will die without talking to her. We were very close and our both families also know about us. Although you may be close to her, she is getting married and will have a life of her own. You need to move on too. You should consult your parents and your friend about how you should go about your future. Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals.

Hello, I can understand your pain at losing one very important person in life. You probably had hopes of spending long time with her and had plans for the future and now nothing is going to happen. All these thoughts might be causing you sadness, disappointment and some anxiety and anger on the other hand. While it's important to be an important part of someone else's life, yet it's also important to know when to call it off if it's not working anymore. 1. At this age it is common for boys and girls to get attracted to each other and spent some time together. But equally common is breakups when one or both see that their needs are too different now and the other person will not fit the requirements any more. While this process is very heart breaking, but it is also important so that you can meet different people and see who is your kind of person and who will help you in the next phase of life ie. Job, marriage children. 2. By going through different relationships you will also understand yourself better and discover many hidden qualities and weaknesses in you. It's your growing edge to work through your weaknesses and sharpen your qualities. You will also discover your passion, dreams and hobbies and interests. 3. I suggest that you look at this breakup as a learning lesson and an opportunity to improve on any thing that was your mistake and assess your life choices again. What was meant to go will go. Let it go and you carry on with your journey. 4. Being flexible and independant in relationships is important. There will be times when you might not have any body's support or company. That is the time to learn to be your own friend and give yourself that love which you want from a close friend. This is healthy self love and very important for self confidence and high self esteem. 5. Indulge yourself with meeting new people, going places, discovering your passion, hobbies etc. Spend time alone with yourself to nurture the person within you.

Dear lybrate-user, I appreciate your move of smoking. When you leave any of the substance immediately after a long term use, you get withdrawal symptoms. Irritability, aggression, sleep disturbance, low mood are some of the common symptoms. These will go with time. Duration depends on the amount of nicotine you were taking.
