These are symptoms of depressive illness. Depressive illness is a medical/psychiatric illness that can be treated effectively by antidepressants and cognitive behavior therapy. So one has to see a psychiatrist. Kindly ask your psychiatrist to change the medications and do cbt or change the psychiatrist at the earliest. Psychiatrist after assessment and evaluation will decide on the best antidepressant medication that is suitable to you. These antidepressant medications are not sedatives or addictive in a nature. The course may last for 4-6 months depending upon the severity of the illness.

It depends because some people react badly and some don't. If you have had no problems so far, no worry. If in case you experience any difficulties of any kind, just visit a doctor and he can treat it immediately with some medication. He will also tell you whether is a withdrawal reaction to alcohol or not. These reactions are hardly ever life-threatening.

You must be under some stress that you are not aware of that is causing this loss of memory. Please meet with a counselor and get some help. You can still do certain things to remember well. Also you cannot do only study and nothing else: a healthy body is very important for a healthy mind i.e. you must also exercise and socialize. Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night?s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. Good social contacts are good for memory too: so make and keep good friends. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly.

I feel I am always at my emotional poles. Sometimes extremely happy or excited, other times dull. I have extreme absent mindedness. Since I was a kid, I have been forgetting keys, lost 2 mobile phones, forgot to pull my zip up. I have a chronic procrastination problem always doing things at the last minute and usually missing deadlines, I am going through the final year of medical school, and I haven't been able to study properly except the last 15 days before exams since my 10th grade. I have failed twice, and the others, just pass. I have also failed in class 11. I lose my patience when I start reading my books and immediately fall asleep. I get easily distracted by ideas in my head, and forget what I was originally doing. In fact I make hand and body gestures without even knowing. I plan to do a lot of things, but cannot follow on them. Also, I get very conscious in social situations and am not able to communicate properly. Usually I regret my social actions later on.

Hi lybrate-user! First of all do not worry. You actually need some treatment and counselling, it will be cured unless otherwise you volunteer to overcome. There may be many reasons because of which you are not able to overcome this problem from childhood, if at all this was corrected at an young age, you would not have faced this now. Anyway past is past, now it is not too late. I wanted you to not do things fast anytype of work. I wanted you to do your daily routines slowly like having food, drinking water etc. Each and everything just take sometime relax and then do your work. Regarding your studies study in portion by portion, study for some time when you are not able to you can always take break relax, and then start again, I wanted you to apply the same during your exams and studies. If you are finding difficulty can seek a Psychologist or a counsellor who will guide you through to overcome this problem. Take care. Everything is possible. With regards, Psy. MSV.

Hello, Take Schwabe’s Alpha-CF and Biocombination-11, both after every 2 hourly for 4 days. Management: -Sponging or bathing with tepid water. The use of a fan or air conditioning may somewhat reduce the temperature and increase comfort. If the temperature reaches the extremely high level of hyperpyrexia, aggressive cooling is required. -Take rest and drink plenty of fluids. -Take light, bland, properly cooked home-made healthy food only.

Stress management is all about taking charge: of your lifestyle, thoughts, emotions, and the way you deal with problems. No matter how stressful your life seems, there are steps you can take to relieve the pressure and regain control. First of all. Think about 1. What caused your stress (make a guess if you’re unsure) 2. How you felt, both physically and emotionally 3. How you acted in response 4. What you did to make yourself feel better Here you have not mentioned anything in detail. So initially you may try some relaxation techniques Relax. You deserve it, it's good for you, and it takes less time than you think. Here comes some relaxation techniques. Try them 1. Meditation: A few minutes of practice per day can help ease. “Research suggests that daily meditation may alter the brain’s neural pathways, making you more resilient to stress,”  It's simple. Sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Close your eyes. Focus your attention on reciting -- out loud or silently -- a positive mantra such as “I feel at peace” or “I love myself.” Place one hand on your belly to sync the mantra with your breaths. Let any distracting thoughts float by like clouds. 2. Breathe Deeply Take a 5-minute break and focus on your breathing. Sit up straight, eyes closed, with a hand on your belly. Slowly inhale through your nose, feeling the breath start in your abdomen and work its way to the top of your head. Reverse the process as you exhale through your mouth. 3. Reach Out Your social network is one of your best tools for handling stress. Talk to others -- preferably face to face, or at least on the phone. Share what's going on. You can get a fresh perspective while keeping your connection strong. There are many more techniques. Try this first and observe whether there is a change.

Masturbation is a very healthy form of sexual outlet, do not feel guilty about it. Nearly 99% of men and more than 60% of women masturbate. It starts from adolescence and goes on in some people even till death. The pleasure (orgasm) from masturbation is said to be unique from sexual intercourse. In men, most of the liquid contains only water and some fructose and hormones. Hence it does not drain your energy. Many equate masturbation/ seminal fluid loss to lack of energy, impotency and so on. Many quacks, religious heads and pseudo healers also propagate the idea that masturbation is a disorder/ and wrongful behavior and instil fear on the mind of innocent men and women (we can see posters in train and bus stand, offering help for this behavior). I don’t know when the last time you reviewed the medication with your doctor was. If it was a long time back, kindly go to the doctor and ask for a review, after describing the symptoms. Now I suspect that along with the medicine, you are not doing some therapy as well, am I right? In that case, it is very important for you to seek some counseling help for bipolar, and learn some skills and techniques to cope with life. Particularly, I would recommend some work on emotions. When you have done this for three years at least, without any symptoms or relapses, you could look at gradually weaning yourself off of the medication, with the doctor’s help and recommendation, and monitoring. The combination of medicine and therapy is very potent. You will be put on a schedule of activities, exercises, socializing, and dealing with your emotions.
