Mr Murali, Random 328 mg is very high blood sugar, it does confirm that you are having diabetes mellitus. (mostly T2). So you need to initiate treatment immediately with anti diabetes drugs. Before tha get a diabetic profile test done - fasting, PP sugar, HbA1c%, creatinine, uric acid and lipid profile. Simultaneously start treatment with appropriate drugs as advised by your doctor.Plus you have to also look at your diet and daily exercise.

What are the symptoms of diabetes melitus & High blood pressure? Please help me. Give suggestion.

What are the symptoms of diabetes melitus & High blood pressure? Please help me. Give suggestion.
Diabetes mellitus most often produces very few recognisable symptoms, hence most people fail to identify that they have diabetes. But when fully grown it may produce following symptoms: excess urination, especially getting up at night to pass urine 2 or 3 times, which disturbs sleep, excess thirst, excess hunger, unexplained weight loss and tiredness. Blood sugar level in such situations shows hyperglycemia. High bp also very rarely causes any recognisable symptoms. Hence, mostly it is found out only on checking at clinic. Occasionally one may feel dizziness. Earlier there was feeling that high bp causes headache and nose bleeds. But this can happen in hypertensive crisis, since these conditions are familial, it better for a person to get blood sugar and bp check up done regularly, particularly after 30 to 40 years. Both these conditions can be prevented by regular exercise, weight maintenance, proper diet. In case of bp salt restriction is very essential. But if one has already developed both these conditions then appropriate drug treatment is a must, in addition to adapting a modified lifestyle.

Can I take Misoprostol tablets later? Because I missed 3 hr gap, will it result any harm if I take it about after 12 hrs?

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Step 1: Swallow the mifepristone pill with water. If you throw up in the first hour (60 minutes) after swallowing Mifepristone, it is likely that the pill will not work. Step 2: Wait 24-48 after swallowing Mifepristone. Step 3: Take 800 mg of Ibuprofen 1 hour before using misoprostol. We recommend this step to help decrease the pain you will feel from cramping. Ibuprofen works better if you take it before you start feeling pain, so do not wait until you feel pain to take it. Taking Ibuprofen will help you to feel more comfortable and will lesson the other side effects that Misoprostol can cause. Step 4: Place 4 misoprostol pills under your tongue (sublingual). It is very important that the pills remain under your tongue for 30 minutes. In these 30 minutes the pills will be absorbing into your system. After 30 minutes you may drink water to wash down what remains of the pills. If you vomit during the 30 minutes that the Misoprostol pills are under your tongue, it is likely they will not work. In this case, it is necessary to immediately repeat step 4. This is why we recommend you use anti-nausea medicine before using Misoprostol and/or you have extra Misoprostol pills. If you vomit after the pills have been under your tongue for 30 minutes, there is no need to repeat step 4 as the pills have already absorbed into your system.

My BP has gone down to 70 -90 with the result, I feel giddy. Doctor told me to increase the intake of salt. What fruits or food can benefit to bring it to normal 120 - 80.

MBBS, MD, DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

FOR LOW B.P - 1. Eat a diet higher in salt. 2. To avoid problems with low blood pressure and lessen episodes of dizziness after meals, try eating smaller, more frequent meals. Cut back on carbohydrates. Rest after eating 3. Limit alcoholic beverages, Drink more fluids during hot weather and while sick with a viral illness, such as a cold or the flu. 4. Avoid heavy lifting. 5. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot water, such as hot showers and spas. If you get dizzy, sit down. 6. Get regular exercise to promote blood flow. 7. Be careful when rising from lying down or sitting. To help improve circulation, pump your feet and ankles a few times before standing up. Then proceed slowly. When getting out of bed, sit upright on the edge of the bed for a few minutes before standing. 8. Elevate the head of your bed at night by placing bricks or blocks under the head of bed. 9. Avoid straining while on the toilet. 10. Avoid standing still in place for long periods of time. Do revert for homeopathic medicines FOR B.P.
