Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having pain in the joints. You can do hot water steaming to reduce the headache which might be due to sinusitis.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol for 5-7 days usually helps in such cases - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Also there are no foods as such which may help to give pain relief although I would suggest calcium rich foods for you to keep bone metabolism healthy.

Dear lybrate-user your weight is fine according to your height. You might be suffering from a consition called plantar fasiatis. The leg muscles tend to get tight with time as well as get weak with time. You need to start wd excersises soon as well as spme easy precautions. N knee pain might be due to muscle weakness nothing to worry about. You can do well with exercises.

Start doing stretching exercises and some yoga postures and deep breathing for few minutes a day. Hot water drink and hot water bath preceded by heated oil massage by mahavishgarbh oil will relieve you.

Dear lybrate-user Nothing to worry about. Take good balanced diet with Pranayama meditation and exercise regularly. Take Milk morning and night Read good books spend time with good friends in good environment. By doing regular meditation and Pranayama everything becomes normal. Regular masturbation is not advisable.

Hi, you should go for 30 minutes brisk walk in the morning. Do regular exercise atleast 15 minutes daily. Take lukewarm water with half spoon methidana powder in the morning. Take salad before meals. Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night and don't skip breakfast. Avoid junk food and oily food. Take proper sleep. Avoid late night dinner. Take small and frequent meals.

Dear lybrate user. Back pain can be due to multipe reasons, from simple muscular spasm to complicated disc herniation or spine joints arthritis. My advise would be to consult a specialist for proper examination & treatment further than indulging in pain medication for symtomatic relief. Idea is to treat the disease if any & not the symptom.

How to work in the house?

Housewives are the commonest victims of low backache. This is because of their working conditions. A standing kitchen is always better than the one where one has to squat on the floor to cook or clean the utensils. The washing machine for clothes should be adjusted to such a height that there is no strain on the back of the operator. Similarly, ironing of clothes should be done in standing position to avoid strain on the back.
