Pain during menstruation is called as dysmenorrhoea. If you r suffering from this since long time and if it is not controlled by meftal spas and if you have to stay at home during menses because of pain, then you should get sonography done to find out the cause. Heat is an effective mean of reducing and relieving pain in cervical spondylosis. You can use hot packs at home. Some exercises like static contractions and strengthening exercises are needs to be done. Isometric contractions of the cervical muscles improve the muscle endurance and tone as the contractions improve the blood supply thereby the nutrition to the muscle is increased and hence muscle strengthening is done. Please see a physiotherapist for these exercises. You may need traction and soft tissue techniques for the management of cs. Postural awareness is very important. As the condition progresses, the abnormality of posture also increases, thus from the initial stage itself, postural awareness through proper advice and education should be planned and initiated by the physiotherapist. Best wishes.

I have been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Though I am having allopathy treatment, I recently tried acupuncture. This alternative treatment gives me more comfort than allopathy. However my allopathy Doctor does not agree. I wanted to know if acupuncture can cure Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Physical therapy can provide a number of benefits, from pain relief to improved physical strength and flexibility. Your doctor may recommend that you meet with a physical therapist to provide you with specific exercises designed for your needs. Range-of-motion and stretching exercises can help maintain flexibility in your joints and preserve good posture. Proper sleep and walking positions and abdominal and back exercises can help maintain your upright posture. Acupuncture Helps Relieve the Severe Pain of Ankylosing Spondylitis. The research on acupuncture for ankylosing spondylitis confirmed decrease in pain, increased range of movement on the spine, ESR levels were reduced by half, C-reactive protein reduced to 25% and even the HLA-B27 marker had been reduced.

Plantar fascitis resolves by 1 year in most patients with conservative treatment. In your case it is persistent , you can try following treatment : 1)Decrease your walking/ running. take rest for 7 days and then start your walking gradually. 2) Reduce body weight if you are obese 3) Take pain killers and apply ice pack locally 4) change your shoe supports if they are very old. 5) Do not walk bare foot or exercise on hard surfaces 6) Use night splint in affected foot . 7) Injections into plantar fascia to decrease pain and improve mobility. This is a general outline about treatment strategies.

Hello. Ask her to maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). At her age, low calcium in bones also leads to backache. Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Management: -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Give her homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - both of them thrice daily for a month. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Apart from that give her calcium tablets also - Calcarea Phos. 6x/ thrice a day for 3-4months, then discontinue in between.

I am feeling very sick from last 3 days .i have a pain in my neck and head and whole body is paining .Please tell.
Neck pain and headache may be due to muscle tension and strain due to poor posture, working at a desk for too long without changing position, sleeping with your neck in a bad position, jerking the neck during exercise. Headache and pain in neck may be related to each other like due to any mental tension and stress or poor posture during sleep and some time pain may be due to any infection. First you should try following treatment for get relief pain. Apply ice for the first few days. After that, apply heat with a heating pad, hot compress, or by taking a hot shower. Take a few days off from sports, activities that aggravate your symptoms, and heavy lifting. Resume normal activity slowly as your symptoms ease. Exercise your neck every day. Slowly stretch your head in side-to-side and up-and-down motions. Use good posture. Avoid cradling the phone between your neck and shoulder. Change your position often. Don’t stand or sit in one position for too long. Get a gentle neck massage. Use a special neck pillow for sleeping. If still pain will remain same then get a cbc with esr test, x-ray of neck done and share your all reports for further management.

Hi, your son seems to have low grade fever with backpain. This can arise due to a systemic infection or even a localised infection in the back. So it would be worthwhile to rule out a local back pathology. In view of the same get the following blood tests fasting: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, pcr for tb and x ray ls spine ap and lateral views. X ray of the spine is done fasting and after taking tab dulcolax 3 tabs and tab charcoal 4 tabs at bedtime the night before the x ray. Revert back with investigation reports.
