Hello lybrate-user, first you need to gain weight ,for this you should increase your calories and proteins intake. For muscle gain eat high protein diet like eggs, chicken, paneer, soyabean, pulses, tofu, fish, sprouts etc. Eat 5-6 small and frequent meals in a day. You can add peanut butter, fruits and vegetable salads ,milk and milk products. Choose healthy oils like soyabean oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil instead of ghee or butter because of satuated fats, focus on high fiber diet and drink 3- 4 liters water in a day.

Hello lybrate-user, your weight is normal according to your height. You can eat natural food products which are high in proteins like eggs ,fish, chicken, pulses, soyabean, paneer etc. Restrict junk food or high fat diet. Choose 5-6 small and frequent meals in a day.

Can anyone suggest a daily diet routine (veg-non veg both) which I can follow in order to gain weight. I am very skinny weighting around 52 kgs and height around 160-165 cms. Currently I have 3 chappites with vegetable 3 times a day, with salads sometimes. Non veg once in a month, eggs sometimes, usually I skip breakfast as I wake up a bit late. Any scope of improvement in my diet?(a diet plan).

You should never skip your meal not even any o the meal and instead of taking 3 big meals, you should take small and frequent meal. Include protein rich sources in your diet. Include good amount of nuts and High Proteins Along With Calories Like Eggs, lean meat, fish, skinless chicken, pulses, sprouts, and dairy products that rich sources of proteins. Please take fruit shakes (Like banana, mango) + 5-6 almonds and 1-2 walnuts. In lunch have multigrain roti + 1bowl dal /palak paneer/ egg white bhurji + 1bowl salad. Evening have fruits shake/lassi/badam shake Dinner: 1-2 paneer stuffed roti/1-2 multigrain roti+ 1bowl dal+ 1bowl salad. Hi. Thanks for the query. For a detailed personalised diet chart you will need to take consultation also understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite. Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

There is no need to take any kind of medicine for weight loss, follow a well planned balanced and healthy diet. Start your with luke warm then a cup of green tea + 5-6 soaked almonds. Then in breakfast you can have a bowl of milk + musseli or wheat flakes, a bowl of vegetable poha, oats upma, oats idly then in mid morning you can have a cup of coconut water +then in lunch you can have 1-2 multi grain chapati + veg +curd + salad then in evening have a cup of jasmine tea + roasted chana then in dinner have 1-2 bowl of vegetable soup + green salad and after half an hour a cup of green tea. Weight gain through diet & strength exercises is healthy way. Supplements are expensive & have adverse health effects over a speed of time. Have buffalo or cow milk. (Hot/ cold) with milk powder. For weight gain in a healthy way, 1. Have 3 litres water daily. 2. Have frequent meals comprising foods high in nutrient & energy density but low in volume. Ex: fruit & almonds milkshake, fruit juice, sugarcane juice, cheese potato chicken sandwich, egg curry, rice/ atta maida roti with ghee, til chikki, dry fruits, premix, malt, soybean cutlets, fish fingers, stuffed parathas, banana, dates, mango. 3. Avoid water with or just before meals 4. Have 15 mins light walk before main meals to enhance appetite. Consider getting a thyroid test done to rule out hyperthyroidism.

Hi doctors, I'm a type 1 diabetic patient from past 13 years, I'm under weight and very skinny my sugar levels r always high reason his I eat what ever I get and working in night shift due to this I skip my meal some time my insulin now a week before admitted in hospital my ketone report was positive and my Grbs was 400, now ketone is negative and my sugar level is under control.
