How can I get rid of chronic social anxiety disorder without medicine and stress.
The only way is to identify your thoughts and its pattern and work on it by changing them using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. This can be well done only with the help of a professional in the beginning.

Can playing video games ,helps to reduce depression? Can Playing video games ,helps in having a positive mindset?
Video games are like having your time with screen space just like watching tv or working with a computer. It is one other form of or to be kept as small time timepass or entertainment. No research to my knowledge says that it will work for depression or to have a positive mindset. Rather there are adverse effects only as results proven by research due to long time usage of video games. It shrinks your thinking, increases immediate gratification, further increases addiction stimulating the craving center of the brain. If you are in depression anergia will be one among the symptom and if you play video games you will be doing nothing other than restricted to the game without any fruitful work or any learning. By winning a target r a game you might get a satisfaction and momentary happiness which gives a falsified image compared to in real life you will be bugged and bored as winning needs lots of hardworking and motivation. Take up some outdoor games, feel the fresh air, sweat, exercise and keep urself healthy. Take care.

Hi I have been thru your concerns. One thing which you have not mentioned is this behaviour of Agression in his school also I would like to know his behaviour within his peer group the importance of this is that is this behaviour of Agression visible at all places or with his parents only .If the behaviour of Agression is visible everywhere like complaints from the school teachers of hitting other children and disobedience not remaining seated at one place, not able to play harmoniously with his friends, poor attention span than I would suggest to get him evaluated at a Child guidance clinic but if it is with parents only than the reasons of said behaviour should be found. In general I would tell you that behaviours are always learnt which means that it is possible that your child has learnt to get things doen his way by shouting ,misbehaving or hitting you among others. So the simple principle of modifying this behaviour is that by not giving him what he is trying to get by doing that particular behaviour so it means if you could give him a signal that if we don't have to give something to you howmuch ever you misbehave we not be giving u.when you start practicing it initially this behaviour may increase more but if you remain firm and you don't give him into his demands the child will get signal that I cannot get everything thing through misbehave if they don't have to give me they will not give me at any cost .But this practice will also test you r patience if you remain firm you improve the behaviour of you r child .I hope I answer u.also U can contact privately.

If a child is behaving with so much anger outbursts we first question the parenting, whether all his needs from the beginning were met immediately before, and he is to throw temper tantrums to meet his needs. Any child learns patterns of behaviours from the known others, parents and environment. If the parenting and environment is fine you need to assess the child for IQ/ADHD or for other behavioural problems with a clinical psychologist.in this modern world with ao much of violent cartoons and movies if the child is exposed to many the child might mimic certain super heroes with his acquired knowledge and act to his needs of gratification. If the child falls under ADHD please provide him the needful pharmacotherapy treatment and behavioural therapy to change his behaviour. Take care.

Dr. How to judge a person if he/she is in depression? Doctor please suggest me something?

Dr. How to judge a person if he/she is in depression? Doctor please suggest me something?
Depression has its own set of symptoms like anhedonia, anergia, decresaed sleep, appetite, lowered concentration and attention etc and at its peak of severity the person might have suicidal ideas. The symptom and severity vary with person to person. Having hopelessness and sadness alone won't put anyone to be depressed but they are part and parcel of the symptoms. Thyroid in medical condition put the person more into the condition of depression due to neurotransmitter imbalance. Please get the person treated by a psychiatrist as depression is actually adverse to a healthy and happy life. CBT and mindfulness from a clinical psychologist will also help as an adjunct, take care.

Stress is an emotional reaction triggered by a situation you face within yourself. It involves numerous neurotransmitter which rise and lower depending upon you act to the crisis. Long time stress not handled properly will be adverse to your health, thinking process, decision making and overall wellbeing/ happiness of your life. Marraige itself is not a criteria to have a happy life. Marraige is just a part of our life. You are getting angry because you have started comparing yourselves with others that's it. Everyone can't have a life as they wish for. But breaking and making up to our needs lies in our hands. Depression has its own set of symptoms like anhedonia, decresaed sleep, appetite, lowered concentration and attention etc and at its peak of severity suicidal ideas. The symptom and severity vary with person to person. Having hopelessness and sadness also part and parcel. But having depression is not so scary. It is just neurochemical imbalance. You have to get treated. Thats it. But more than that you seem to have self esteem issues. If you consider urself low then no oneelse can lift you. Selfconfidence to be boosted up. Just stop comparing and naming urself bad. We cannot live for the needs and thought process of others and that should not be a concern for you as it is your life. Live life to the fullest, be happy and enjoy everyday. If you still can not handle the situation meet a clinical psychologist or pychiatrist for help take care.

5 Steps To Overcome Compulsive Indecisiveness!

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, Senior Resident Psychiatrist
Psychiatrist, Ahmedabad
5 Steps To Overcome Compulsive Indecisiveness!

Do you find it too hard to figure out what to wear? Does taking some important decision leave you feeling paralyzed? These indicate that you suffer from compulsive indecisiveness. Struggling with this problem leaves you stuck in one place and causes you distress. Fear of taking the wrong decision is the primary reason, which makes people indecisive. It is also likely for you to bother too much about what other people think of you.

Here are five important steps, which you should take for overcoming compulsive indecisiveness:

  1. Forget your fear: Fear of something often causes indecisiveness. You need to figure out and write down your fears and what you would do if these occur. If you are indecisive about a job change or whether the new job will be paying you less, you should analyze how the reduced income will affect your life and how you can deal with it.
  2. Tune into your emotions: Maximum people who suffer from compulsive indecisiveness and struggle at making major decisions tend to over analyze situations a bit too much. In some cases, you cannot create an easy perception or a suitable side for a situation in spite of stressing over it from various angles. The situation will remain the same, no matter how much you think. Write down your options, think about them, rate them, and choose the top rated option.
  3. Practice on small things: For improving upon your indecisiveness, you should start practicing by taking small decisions every day. Aim at taking 10 major decisions everyday such as where to go for lunch, which route to take to work and more. Slowly, practice taking decisions quickly instead of pondering over a situation. Try to make instant decisions in various spheres of life.
  4. Learn to trust yourself: You need to list all your strengths. Write down whether you think if you are smart, creative or funny. Ask yourself whether you can infuse your strengths into your process of decision making. Try to test your strengths in all kinds of matters. Once you are sure of your strengths, you will be able to achieve your goals without hesitation.
  5. Pick one thing at a time: You should pick things and matters one at a time to focus on. If there are several things which bother you and add to your indecisiveness, try to handle them one by one. This way you will be able to give all your focus to one matter, and overcome your fears related to it. After that, move on to another fear.

It is important for you to let go and refrain yourself from analyzing whether a decision which you had taken is right or wrong. Instead, focus on activities which matter to you and do not ponder over old decisions. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychiatrist.

How can I quit smoking? I am badly addicted to smoking and I can't live without a cigarette even a day. What should I do? I am just 15 years old.

MD Hom., Certificate in Food and Nutrition, BHMS, Diploma In Yoga
Homeopath, Indore
Think about trying some of these activities: 1 do Exercise. 2 Get out of the house for a walk. 3 Chew gum or hard candy. 4 Keep your hands busy with a pen or toothpick, or play a game. 5 Drink lots of water. 6 Relax with deep breathing. 7 Go to a movie. 8 Spend time with non-smoking friends and family 9 Do something else. When a craving hits, stop what you're doing immediately and switch to doing something different Start your stop smoking plan with START S = Set a quit date. Choose a date within the next two weeks, so you have enough time to prepare without losing your motivation to quit. If you mainly smoke at work, quit on the weekend, so you have a few days to adjust to the change. T = Tell family, friends, and co-workers that you plan to quit. Let your friends and family in on your plan to quit smoking and tell them you need their support and encouragement to stop. Look for a quit buddy who wants to stop smoking as well. You can help each other get through the rough times. A = Anticipate and plan for the challenges you'll face while quitting. Most people who begin smoking again do so within the first three months. You can help yourself make it through by preparing ahead for common challenges, such as nicotine withdrawal and cigarette cravings. R = Remove cigarettes and other tobacco products from your home, car, and work. Throw away all of your cigarettes (no emergency pack!), lighters, ashtrays, and matches. Wash your clothes and freshen up anything that smells like smoke. Shampoo your car, clean your drapes and carpet, and steam your furniture. T = Talk to your doctor about getting help to quit. I hope this will help you. For more queries contact us.

My sis have a habit of talking with herself, is dis sign of depression, what is the reason behind it.

My sis have a habit of talking with herself, is dis sign of depression, what is the reason behind it.
This is not a good sign especially if she is not aware of it. In fact it is more than depression and needs immediate attention. Take her to a counselor first and let that person assess the seriousness of her condition and if that person wants her to meet a psychiatrist, please do it soon. It is most likely that your sister will be unwilling to come claiming that she is alright. You must still insist and take her anyway.

I 30 year old and single. I did masturbation last 15 years but not regularly but frequently. Is I loss my memory, or any serious disease. What can I do?

I 30 year old and single. I did masturbation last 15 years but not regularly but frequently. Is I loss my memory, or ...
Well, masturbation as any other kind of behavior can potentially affect memory, but it is not like “I masturbate, then my memory changed somehow”. Memory is complex and has other components than just behavior. I would say that masturbation does not affect memory, if we are talking about healthy sexual habits. For example, if you masturbate regularly just because you want, or because it is fun, and it does not evoke negative feelings, you can consider masturbation as just something that you do for fun or whatever.
