Fat - Is It Possible To Lose It From Specific Places?

It is often a misconception that you can lose fat from a specific place. If you lose fat from the body, then the fat loss would be from the entire body and won’t be restricted to a specific area of your body. Exercise and diet combined together form an effective tool which you can use to lose fat from your entire body.

The fat in the body is stored in the form of triglycerides, which the body cannot break down for energy. The triglycerides are first broken down to glycerol and fatty acids, which are then released into the bloodstream, following which they can be used as energy. 

Initially the body uses the available carbohydrates present in the blood for energy; fat is only used as fuel after the carbohydrates supply is exhausted. Hence, prolonged steady state exercise, such as jogging for 50-60 minutes is an efficient method of burning fat. Another strategy you may employ to lose fat from your body is by a method called high intensity interval training. 

High intensity interval training (HIIT) is increasingly becoming the new fad in fat loss. This method utilizes a concept where you do an exercise at full thrust for a short time of 20-30 seconds followed by a short rest period of 10-15 seconds; this comprises of one set. Repeat for another 9 to 10 sets for a proper HIIT workout. The idea is to burn energy during the exercise and after the exercise is complete.

The exercises in HIIT are done at full throttle which means your heart rate centers around an anaerobic zone and this creates an oxygen shortage in the body. An effect called EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) is induced in the body that results in an elevated metabolism for up to 24-48 hours after the workout. So you would be burning fat simply by doing nothing.

The fat loss process occurs when the fat cells around the body shrink. Doing body specific exercise such as crunches to lose fat from the stomach does not work and will only work the muscle underneath the fat. It is better to focus on compound exercises that involve the entire body to burn more calories and lose fat from the body. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Aspire to be fit and smart and slim. Aim for long term weight loss @ 3 Kg per month = 18 kgs in 6 months. So on. In one year you can get back to your right weight. Add 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet. Double your water intake. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/ Colas/Juices from your diet. Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice/Biryani etc. Eat slowly and mindfully. Reduce portion size. Exercise daily - 'Intense' Cardio for 60 mins. This will keep you toned and trim. Love yourself and respect your body.

For losing weight, you need to regulate your food, increase more fruits and vegetables, do daily exercise and stay fit. The solution for depression is ACTION and ACTIVITY. Join some aerobics / zumba / yoga classes. Challenge yourself towards improvement. Consult a dietician who can help you to have a regulated diet.

Thanks for reaching out. If you are feeding your 5 month baby, this is not a great time to do weight reduction. Once you have finished maybe a year or more later we will help you with weight reduction. Now take milk 750 ml as milk or curd if you are feeding the child all times. Because upto 6 months exclusive mothers milk is advised for babies. Diet currently if you can take proteins such as dhals or pulses in every meal it will be helpful. Take fresh fruits and vegetables at least 2 cups in a day of each. Reduce oil intake whether it is oil or ghee.

You need to follow well balanced weight loss diet chart enriched with nutrients that will help to decrease your weight gradually and you can enjoy healthy life. Here is some tips which should be followed:- 1.Don’t starve yourself –Rather than not eating anything or on fasting, people should eat small frequent meals. 2. Eat fiber rich diet-Fiber gives bulk to the food and maintains hunger pangs which helps to burn fat in the body. 3. Be hydrated-Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water ,Simple RO water is recommended over other drinks such as-fruit juices, soft drinks, hard drinks. 4. Include green tea-drink green tea daily to help in losing weight and it will helps in water retention also. 5. Choose carbohydrate wisely-choose complex CHO over simple CHO to lose weight. 6. Choose unsaturated fat over saturated fat for cooking. For example-choose olive, rice bran oil over ghee, butter. 7. Avoid processed ,fatty food. Hello sir/mam, 1)weight is increasing (mostly belly fat) 2) last month my periods were late so doctor suggest me to take "ovral G" but she suggested to take medicine regularly but I forget to take everyday and my periods happen after 12 days. 3) she suggested a syrup too for hemoglobin.

To reduce weight naturally you should avoid packed and market food, reduce wheat and rice based food and minimise sugar, oil and salt. Increase intake of natural food like fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts & seeds. Do 30 mins of cardio & stretching exercise in morning. With this your hb will increase naturally.
