When you give some of your blood for someone else, it is called blood donation. It usually helps people who have lost quite a bit of blood in accidents or suffer from diseases, such as cancer or hemophilia, etc.

Like all activities related to medical conditions, there are myths related to blood donation too and some of them are:

1. Myth: Because you're a vegetarian, you don't have enough iron in your blood; so your blood isn't useful as donated blood.
Fact: The fact is that vegetarians can donate blood and their blood has enough iron, just as much as non vegetarians.

2. Myth: Infections, such as HIV can be contracted from donating blood.
Fact: This does not have a practical basis except for the fact that using contaminated needles might lead to contraction of the infections. However, usually fresh needles are used; therefore this never happens much.

3. Myth: Your health can deteriorate after you donate blood.
Fact: Your body produces new red blood cells as well as white blood cells after donation; hence your health doesn't deteriorate at all, except in cases where there is no rest taken at all after donation.

4. Myth: If you take medications, you cannot donate blood.
Fact: This is entirely dependent on your physician's advice. In case of some medications, you need to halt them in order to donate blood. In most cases though, taking medications does not prevent you from donating blood.

5. Myth: You will be unable to partake in physical activities after donating blood.
Fact: Heavy lifting should be avoided. Apart from this, donating blood does not stop you from physical activities. You need to rest for a while, but there is nothing about blood donation putting a check on most physical activities.

6.Myth: People with more weight have more blood to donate.
Fact: This is an entirely baseless assumption. Overweight or obese people are often unhealthy, so donating more blood has nothing to do with weight. Hence, obese people do not have more blood in their bodies as compared to their thinner counterparts.

Post-Dinner (if required, at 10:00 pm) - 1 cup of milk.

For pcos loosing weight is very important and for loosing weight lifestyle changes along with balanced diet and sound sleep are very important. Viagra: How Should You Use It?

Viagra is a very common drug prescribed for treating erectile dysfunction. It works by enhancing the flow of blood to the penis during sexual intercourse to bring about erection. Viagra actually contains the active ingredient Sildenafil Citrate which is a selective inhibitor of Cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5).

This drug works efficiently with sexual stimulation. Erectile dysfunction is very common among older men whose sexual function tends to fall after they reach their 50s. But these days even younger men in their 30's and 40's are experiencing an increased incidence of erectile dysfunction.

Doctors can even recommend the drug to both younger and elder men who suffer from erection problems.

Solidification of the arteries, the blood vessels that supply blood to the penis, can occur during the teen years. The problem then develops by the time they reach the age of 20-30 years and more, hindering their ability to get and maintain an erection. Men suffering from diabetes and facing the problem of Erectile dysfunction can be assisted by this drug.

The drug should be ideally taken an hour before the sexual intercourse.

On the other hand, you can also take Viagra half an hour to 4 hours before the sexual intercourse. You don't require having food in order to take the drug. But you need to keep in mind that if you take it after a meal high in fats, it can take a little bit longer for you to experience its effects.

Most importantly, the misuse of Viagra should be avoided. It should be taken only under medical supervision. The drug doesn't have the power to help you ejaculate easily if you suffer from problems related to orgasm or even enhance your sexual appetite. It does not enhance sexual timing, so should not be used to treat premature ejaculation. Men also shouldn't expect the drug to take the erections to unexpected heights.

Word of Caution:
One should never take the drug for recreational purposes. One can end up suffering from minor erectile dysfunction due such abuse. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

What Are Menstrual Disorders?

Menstruation is a barometer of a women's health. Any changes in the menstrual pattern of a woman could be a harbinger of serious underlying disease and should not be overlooked. However adolescent girls are a special case where menstrual pattern is variable and much different from Adult women. It is very common for teenaged girls who have recently started menstruating to have irregular periods. This period pattern is wrongly classified as 'period problems". At the same time one needs to understand that some of the real problems like period pain in young girls are often overlooked as "normal" when they could be associated with serious medical disorders.

Although menstrual disorders are fairly common in most young women, it may have an underlying cause which can be indicative of a serious issue. Therefore, it is recommended for young women to consult a gynecologist if any difficulties arise.

Symptoms Of Menstrual Disorders (Severe)

  1. Excessive abdominal pain
  2. Excessive vaginal pain
  3. Missed / irregular periods
  4. Painful periods

The severe symptoms are usually accompanied by mild symptoms such as:

  1. Irritability
  2. Weight loss
  3. Vomiting
  4. Headaches/back pain
  5. Fatigue
  6. Insomnia
  7. Diarrhea

PCOS and Menstrual Disorders

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a common reason for women to experience irregular menstrual periods. PCOS occurs when there is an excess of male hormones (androgens) in the body which hinder the production and release of eggs in the ovaries, resulting in menstruation problems. Symptoms of PCOS are acne, hair loss and weight gain. Women with PCOS are 80% more likely to suffer from fertility issues later in life. Along with that, PCOS can result in high cholesterol and high blood pressure. One serious concern for women with PCOS is resistance to insulin which leads to diabetes.

Diet and menstrual disorders

Poor diet can also lead to menstrual complications. An extremely high fiber diet can result in less frequent ovulations and therefore irregular periods. A diet which is too low in fats and fatty acid can also result in abnormal menstrual patterns.

Stress and PCOS

Young women are often prone to immense stress. Stress is one of the primary reasons for delayed periods. Stress can cause minor complications in the hypothalamus which may have consequences in the levels of hormones in the body.

The presence of ovarian cysts in the vagina may be a cause for irregular or painful periods. Endometriosis can cause heavy bleeding and extreme pain.

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand the concerns. Folic acid do not boosts fertility. Rather, ovulation induction may be required to increase the chances of fertility in PCOS patients.

You should get a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy done. If on laparoscopy also Lt tube has hydrosalpinx it should be removed. You should also be investigated for genital tuberculosis.

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is a condition in which a man is not able to maintain an erection during sexual intercourse. It can be triggered by a variety of conditions like smoking, intake of certain drugs, health disorders or excessive consumption of alcohol. Although treatment options like medication and surgery are available, there are non-invasive treatments that can help a person fight the condition.

Here are some of them:
1. Engage in a physical workout - 
Among the many types of lifestyle changes that could be resorted to, exercise is the most effective one. Exercising improves blood flow and blood pressure in the body, both of which are essential for getting and maintaining a normal erection for a prolonged time. Plus, exercising also increases the level of testosterone, which is a crucial factor in sex drive.
2. Follow a balanced dietThe food you consume has a direct effect on your health and subsequently on your sex drive. A diet consisting of fruits, veggies, fish and lesser servings of red meat and refined grains can decrease the risk of impotency. Also, a healthy diet helps to maintain a stable body weight, which aids in sexual activity. Overconsumption of junk foods can cause obesity and diabetes, which are responsible for impotence.
3. Get sufficient sleep - Apart from a host of health problems, lack of sleep may also you render you impotent. Studies have shown that testosterone levels of men who are sleep deprived are much lower than in those who get their 8 hours of sleep. A proper sleep schedule should thus be duly adhered to.
4. Quit smoking and limit your alcohol consumption - Erectile dysfunction can be the cause of vascular disease. This occurs when the blood supply to the penis becomes restricted due to the blockage and narrowing of arteries. Alcohol and smoking can be responsible for this and can be the cause of both temporary and long-term impotence. Therefore, it's important to limit your alcohol consumption and quit smoking altogether.

Maintain 45 minutes walk at morning time & 20 minutes at evening time, after taking 250 ml luck worm water. And use Syrp. Amycordial (AMIL) 10 ml 8 AM - 8 PM with 100 ml water before food. For 4 months.

Can I get pregnant if I have taken the unwanted 72 within 7 hours on 11th august and my period date is 4th Sept. If your last period was on 4 th of august and you are having normal regular periods and you have taken I pill with in the prescribed period then it is quite unlikely that pregnancy would set in .just relax and wait for your cycles. You may not get your periods on time as after I pill periods tend to get delayed so if you don't get your period on time then please get your pregnancy test done so as to be sure.

  • मोटापा घटाए: काली चाय में दूध और चीनी न होने के कारण वज़न कम किया जा सकता है। चाय में मौजूद एंटीऑक्सीडेंट मोटापा कम करने, फ़ैट बर्न करने और कोलेस्ट्राल कंट्रोल करने में बहुत लाभदायक होते हैं। चाय में दूध डालने से एंटीऑक्सीडेंट का असर कम हो जाता है। जबकि काली चाय पीने से 70% से अधिक कैलोरी बर्न होती है, जिससे वेट कम करने में आसानी होती है।
  • घटाए डायबिटीज का रिस्क: रोजाना ब्लैक टी के सेवन से डायबिटीज यानि मधुमेह होने की संभावना कम हो जाती है। इसके सेवन से ब्लड सर्कुलेशन सिस्टम से जुड़े तमाम रोग तथा टाइप 2 मधुमेह का भी खतरा बेहद कम हो जाता है।
  • कैंसर होने का चांस घटाए:  काली चाय में पाए जाने वाले एंटी-ऑक्सीडेंट की वजह से कैंसर होने की संभावना कम होती है।
  • डाइजेशन सुधारे:  ब्लैक टी में पाया जाने वाला टैनिन तथा अन्य उपयोगी तत्व पाचनक्रिया के लिए बेहद फायदेमंद होते हैं तथा ये पाचन तंत्र को मजबूत बनाते हैं।

  • हड्डियां बनें मजबूत: ररेगुलर काली चाय पीने से इसमें शामिल फाइटोकेमिकल्स की वजह से हमारे शरीर की हड्डियाँ मजबूत होती हैं। 
  • खून करे पतला: काली चाय ख़ून को गाढ़ा नहीं होने देती है, जिससे नसों में ख़ून का थक्का नहीं जमता है।

तो इस तरह मोटापा कम करने के साथ-साथ अनेक बीमारियों से बचने के लिए नियमित ब्लैक टी पी सकते हैं। 
हां ये सच है कि शुरुआत में आपको इसका स्वाद अच्छा नहीं लगेगा, लेकिन लाभ मिलने से आपको इसकी आदत हो जाएगी।
एक बात का ध्यान रहे कि गर्मी के दिनों और लूजमोशन या गर्मी के कारण हुई बीमारियों के दौरान चाय पीने से बचें।
तो आज ही अपने आपसे कीजिए वादा की जब भी आप चाय पीएंगे तो वह होगी काली चाय।
