Fibers are the carbohydrates and are the indigestible part of the food.They are actually not digestible, but help a lot in digestion.They are derived from plants and offer a lot of health benefits. They make our body light and fit and is commonly known as roughage.

What are the advantages of having fiber in your diet?

Other health benefits of fiber includes reducing the incidence of heart disease, lowering cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose levels and inflammation and even weight loss. Fiber can help with weight loss because it creates a fullness within your intestine, which aids you in eating less.

Fiber is of two types:

  1. Insoluble fiber: It does not dissolves in water. It is the bulky fiber that helps in preventing constipation and is found in whole grains, wheat cereals and vegetables such as carrots, celery and tomatoes.

  2. Soluble fiber: They dissolves in water and help in controlling the blood sugar level and reduce cholesterol. Good sources include barley, oatmeal, beans, nuts, and fruits, such as apples, berries, citrus fruits, and pears.

What are the health benefits?

  1. Digestive health: Let’s get this one out of the way first. Dietary fiber normalizes bowel movements by bulking up stools and making them easier to pass.
  2. Heart disease: Fiber, particularly soluble fiber, is an important element of any heart-healthy diet. Eating a diet high in fiber can improve cholesterol levels by lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol.
  3. Diabetes: A diet high in fiber particularly insoluble fiber from cereals can lower your risk for type 2 diabetes. If you already have diabetes, eating soluble fiber can slow the absorption of sugar and improve your blood sugar levels.
  4. Cancer: There is some research that suggests eating a high-fiber diet can help prevent colorectal cancer, although the evidence is not yet conclusive.
  5. Skin health: When yeast and fungus are excreted through the skin, they can trigger outbreaks of acne.

Dear lybrateuser, - It is always better to avoid supplements & preferably use natural foods to build your body as the supplements are not that well absorbed & digested by the body as compared to the natural foods, also in the long run they may strain & effect the kidneys & liver - you can add these protein rich foods to your meals & also have as snacks, eggs, milk & milk products, non-veg like seafood, chicken, meats, soya products, beans, legumes, tofu, nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts.

Hello, Rice is just underrated. There is, surely no problem, but it will be better if you add 50 percent of fresh vegetables to your diet.

No, not at all. Using testosterone for work out is not suggested. This will make him weak once he stop using it. Even his libido will be decreased once he stops it. Please try to make him work out without using any supplements.

I work 11 hrs a shift from 2.30 pm to 1.30 am. 1st break @ 4.15 to 4.30 2nd 1he break at 6.30 to 7.30 3rd break 9.30 to 9.45 and last break at 11.30 to 11.45 I wake up @ 11. 15 am after which I exercise. Hi Lybrate user, As per the details provided by you; you seem to have a sitting job for a long duration. And you also crave for junk. To overcome this. Make sure that you have a healthy and a heavy breakfast in the morning so that you can overcome your cravings for junk. Stand atleast for 10 min after every 1 hr that you spend sitting at one place. And for muncing in btwm carry few nuts and dates with you so that it would be a healthy munching. And split your meals and try to carry your meals with you for every break you have. You have to go for bone marrow test since the WBC count is high. With anaesthesia, it won't be painful.

Dear lybrateuser, - There is no fixed time to drink milk, you can have a bowl at breakfast with oats or cereals with fresh fruits & a glass before bedtime as it helps induce a sound sleep - you can also have milk products like yogurt, cheese, paneer, butter milk which also provide good amount of calcium .

You need to be isolated for atleast 7 to 10 days from the start of apearance of blisters. Take plenty of water and fluids. Blisters can spread avoid contacts.
