You need to increase your food intake. Eat every 2 -3 hours. Include milkshakes, sweets, custards, chocolates, dry fruits like kaju, kismis, badaam, etc. Have aloo / paneer Parathas in breakfats, 2-3 chapatis with a bowl of rice and dal, vegetables, salad and curd. If non-vegetarian, eat chicken, eggs, fish, meat (ocassionally).

I am suffering from skin already from 1 year it means nourishes but pimples are present on body pls give recommended treatment.

You will have to undergo a doctor treatment for the scars at a cosmetic centre .There is no cream or tablet for it.

Hi. Its been one month now I am not able to sleep properly. I work between 5 pm o 2 am and reaches at home 3 Am. But I can not sleep now days I do not know why. I feel excessive thinking which is unwanted. When I sleep I can feel like I am still awake and after 2 hrs I get up automatically. I also go to gym after hard work out of 2 Hrs still I can not sleep. I am getting very frustrated now. I follow very good diet plan which does not not include any junk food, spicy food and alcohol. I don't believe in Ayurveda. Grey hairs are not possible to treat. You can prevent them by taking tablet Kerablak once a day for one month.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. As far as the ulcer in the mouth is concerned it can be a traumatic ulcer or aphthous ulcer. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get it evaluated. Once the diagnosis is confirmed we can treat accordingly with topical anesthetics like lignocaine and topical analgesics likecholine salicylate. Do saline gargling. Take care.

Running vs walking: which is better?
Is it better to walk or run? which burns more calories?

Running and walking are fairly similar concepts; both get you from a to b. How different are they when it comes to weight loss, then? where do the differences between the two forms of exercise lie, and which one holds the title as the better weight loss aid?

Before comparing the two activities head-to-head, it is important to note that both are beneficial. Both running and walking are proven to offer cardiovascular benefits. Both will help promote weight loss, improve your sleep, elevate your mood, boost your energy level, decrease blood pressure and cholesterol levels and decrease the risk of cancer, diabetes.
Another fun fact is that they have been shown to reduce risk of cataracts with age. They are beneficial to bone density and, therefore, bone strength.

Calories burned per 1-mile walk vs 1-mile run for a 156-lb person (around 70.7kg)

Walk calories burned per mile: 88.9
Run calories burned per mile: 112.5

Walk calories burned per minute: 4.78
Run calories burned per minute: 11.25

Walk after-burn per mile: 21.7
Run after-burn per mile: 46.1

Which burns more calories?

Does running burn more calories than walking? well, yes and no.

If you run for 20 minutes or walk for 50 minutes, you end up burning about the same amount of calories. But if you walk for 20 minutes or run for 20 minutes, running will create the biggest calorie deficit.

So if you've got more time, are more prone to injury or simply have an aversion to high-intensity activities, then go with a lower-intensity exercise, such as walking, biking or swimming.
Just remember that the lower your exercise intensity, the lower the calorie expenditure, so how long you exercise becomes more important.

Do keep in mind that everyone's body responds differently to exercise. So even though you and your spouse may both be walking for 45 minutes each day, your results will differ.
This is because the number of calories you expend during exercise depends on your body composition (lean mass vs. Fat mass). The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn. In addition, the type of exercise you do and the muscles that are involved will also dictate the amount of calories used.

What's so great about walking?

Walking has a few benefits that set it apart from running:

Walking is correlated with an even lower risk of high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes than running
Walking is ideal for joints because it is a low-impact activity
Lower intensity exercise, such as walking (as opposed to running which is high-intensity), burns energy directly from fat stores

Then why bother running?

Now, those are all great benefits, but that does not necessarily mean that they outweigh the benefits of running.

Running stacks up pretty well in comparison:

Running is correlated with a lower bmi and waist circumference than walking
Running burns more calories per hour, making it more time-efficient than walking
Runners controlled their weight better, so they were able to maintain weight loss long-term

Running suppresses the appetite and regulates hunger hormones

Running causes a more lasting metabolism increase even after exercise has ended.

How running and walking match up

So, which is the better exercise?
At the end of the day, that is really a matter of personal decision. The most important factor to consider is that intensity doesn't have a significant impact on weight loss if you are burning the same amount of calories.

Say you do a high intensity workout for a short period of time. You can likely burn the same amount of calories by doing a low intensity workout for a longer time. This means that you don't necessarily have to go for a run to burn the calories, though running will be much more time efficient.

A calorie is a calorie, and the subtle differences between running and walking are unlikely to add up much.

Hi lybrate-user, To stop hair fall use triphla powder mixed with curd applies on your scalp, at least thrice a week. Second you can use onion juice or fenugreek paste on your scalp, start taking 1.Saptamrit lauh 2 tablets twice in a day with water after meal. 2.Maha bhringraj oil for external use massage on your scalp with the help of finger tips. Leave it for overnight. Include at least 50 gm paneer daily in your diet drink plenty amount of water at least 10--12 glasses per day. With today's trend of losing weight I have a lot of patients who have the urge to know" which food items to encourage in the diet and which ones to restrict" or" what is best suited for me and what is not" or what is the ideal weight loss. Does dieting mean an absolute change in the eating pattern and appear weak and look starved?
By dieting everybody obviously means, eating less. This concept should be changed. Dieting actually means eating correctly, large quantities of the right foods and small quantities of the wrong foods. When you eat in this pattern there will be no side effects. It is not completely changing the eating pattern, but a certain addition of foods to nourish bodies so that they are no deficiencies like anemia, and being completely fit, far from being starved and weak.

How important is it to exercise for weight loss?
Exercise is a fabulous way and meant to relax, tone body and to improve stamina and not exactly lose weight. You might lose few kilos but to get the results it has to be combined with right kind and amount of food. One needs to understand the right kind of exercise depending upon individual's requirement, i. E. Age, injuries, and lifestyle. Over-exercise which is done to lose weight faster in most cases leads to frustration and injuries. Including the exercise regime is very important and should be done but in moderation and depending on your requirement.

Are foods like mint, lemongrass, cumin seed (jeera), harmful for health?
Since ancient times foods like jeera, coriander, mint is been used in daily life. It is not always important to be in height weight ratio. The amount of weight loss depends on certain factors like age, body structure, physical activity, illness. This is best decided by the professional. Lose weight to be healthy and disease free and not starved and malnourished.

Does weight loss means stop eating and drinking and never getting back to normal life?
It's about your entire food habits, lifestyle, sleeping pattern, vitamin intake that influences your weight, skin, hair, nails etc. Everything in moderation is the key. Hard drinks can be taken 2-3 times a week, if you really must, totaling up to 4-5 drinks in a week.

Are there specific foods that help in weight loss?
There is no one food that decides weight loss. Losing weight means eating but foods like whole grains, rice, soybeans, fish, milk, curd, and eggs, so that you gain in health and lose in weight.

Can the diet which works for one person affect the other person too?
There is an ideal diet for a particular type of body constitution. Based on symptoms, your medical problems, your family history of medical problems, your lifestyle, a suitable diet can be designed which will suit your individual needs. The diet has to be designed to increase their energy levels and enhance immunity to handle stress and concentrate better. It is important to first identify body constitution and according to that derive a corrective-eating plan for each individual that covers all meals from morning to bedtime.
