Dear user Break up in love followed by depression and with an intense feeling of being betrayed and used is making you suffer more This is a complex situations to get out of mind and the more you think of it the more willing harm your health. So the tips I can give by this mode is 1 in humanity accept that even though everyone desire ideal life and love but it is not full proof and the best can go wrong and break. This will give you solace. 2) Accept life should not and will not stop and worth living because of stupidity of one treacherous man infact I would say you are saved one because after marriage and with children if he were to do this you would have double trouble for you and your child. 3) If you are working concentrate on it and if you are not then start doing first part time and full time. 4) When you have stable finance and stable mind trust your parents, relatives, yourself and enquire about the person whom you want to tie a knot. Do a thorough enquiry of the person whom you want to marry. 5) Not all man are bad people. Believe once you are married to a more loving and loyal man you will forget that idiot forever who betrayed a long love relationship. Really very unethical. 6) Time is a great medicine it will heal Even then you are not well you can consult me because this is complicated and complex issues which requires long term treatment to remain stable health-wise. Hopefully your questions is answered.

Hi lybrate-user. In treatment of depression you may find medications called antidepressants beneficial and psychological therapies. Most antidepressants have similar efficacy data from research. There are certain suggestions that I wish to make 1. Stick to one psychiatrist, who you think you have good rapport with, as moving from one to another is not of much help. 2. Any one antidepressant medication should be given ample time at optimal therapeutic dose for it to work for instance 4 to 6 weeks. If one medication doesn't work after trial for adequate duration then can change to another one. Or sometimes augmented with a different medication. 3. Try adding psychological therapy and practical problem solving. If depression is severe and not responding to the above measures severe ECT may be tried or in some centres rTMS is available.

You are probably upset about the loss of your baby. Luckily you can always have another but before that you must investigate why you lost he baby. Then take necessary medical intervention or precautions to prevent its recurrence. But sleep is very important and any deprivation can do you more harm. Try out the following: In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i.e. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. You can also try the 4-7-8 breathing pattern, which is to breathe in for four counts, hold your breath for 7 counts and exhale with a whoosh sound for 8 counts. This is to be four times at a time first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and any number of times during the day. While doing this exercise place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth. The effects will be seen after a few days. Pray last thing at night before you sleep.

My fiance was depressed due to his failure in competitive exam and his illness from last year. He always had mood swings but we were having a healthy relationship with love. We used to discuss abt almost everything and many times he feels low then he used to come to me and get relaxed. But due to anxiety and fear for future he was not able to concentrate on studies due to negative thoughts. He has been given pexep cr 12.5 mg and neurodin multivitamin tablets to be taken once in a day and now he is very relaxed and concentrated for studies. He has completed course of 3 months for this dose and been given omega fish oil capsule in place of earlier medicine. From last month he has been taking omega capsules. Meanwhile due to his viral fever and weakness his studies get affected. His exams are after 10 days and he is really clncioua n afraid n negative abt his health. He was having dry cough n he has show it to doctor n doctor has given him antibiotics n syrup. His eyes r really heavy from long time. I do not understand the reason behind dis heaviness n unable to sleep at night. Is it due to cold or surviving medication or tensions for upcoming exams. Pls suggest the reasons and home remedies so that he can concentrate for exams as there are only 10 days remaining for exams.

It is very difficult to suggest something to work so fast. However it does look like he had not sought counseling in tandem with the medication and that could be the cause of a lot of the discomfort. He needs to learn skills and techniques to handle the stresses of life and the depression. The failure and the illnesses could have aggravated his condition. Also he can use some of these suggestions written in the second person but you can understand and apply: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do calisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved. As regards the concentration you are sure to have hormonal imbalances which may impact your memory because of the chemical but also the distractions that come with it; together with depression I can imagine your problems. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling.

Dear lybrate-user, I am not sure that you have followed up with your doctor recently. You seem to be on a low dose of Olanzapine. Probably you may need a mood stabiliser (if you are diagnosed as Schizoaffective Disorder) or an antidepressant in addition. Please consult your psychiatrist. You might get help to get out of depression like how you got out of occipital pain.

Its good that you have reached out for help. It seems your problems might be because of Anxiety or depression. This problem is curable with proper treatment. Its good that you have reached out and seeking help. In order to differentiate between normal stress (i.e. Eustress) and pathological stress (i.e. Distress) we need to assess you in detail so that we can help you to get better. Sometimes general advise regarding stress management doesn't work for everyone therefore care plan has to be tailor made and individualized. You can read my health tip on depression on Lybrate. I would recommend to start treatment as soon as possible because depression is curable. If you want to discuss in details on confidential basis then contact me privately through Lybrate. Best wishes.

These issues are not actually related to our duty but still I respect your sentiments for parents. Dreams are created in mind which has notting to do with real life some times co-incidences magnifies our superstition. Just one thing at last- this is the home of almighty, he is controller of everything life is created by god and will be taken away by him only he will never reveal his plan via dreams. So dont worry just be with the persons you love with yours best because no1 knows the time of sepration. Keep a smile on face for today tomaro will be even more better with this god bless.
