Auricular Therapy Can Help You Lose Weight

Auricular Therapy is an ear based acupuncture therapy that can help in weight loss with the help of appetite suppression. Acupuncture helps in improving the serotonin level which works towards improving the smooth muscle of the stomach. This in turn helps in curbing one's hunger and appetite. The therapy is aimed at the vagal nerve in the ears.

History: While acupuncture has been practiced for several years as a part of Chinese Medicine, it has been imbibed as a part of alternative therapy and healing in the recent decades. The method of Auricular therapy for weight loss was first put forth by a research report presented in an Australian health journal, in the year 1998.

Requirement: The number of sessions and the intensity will depend on the goal weight of the person. Usually, each person requires a session of thirty to thirty five minutes at a time. This therapy works best for a weight loss goal of five to ten pounds at a time with sessions at least three times in a week.

Types: There are various types of auricular therapy that can help in stimulation of specific points on the ear with the help of five needles. These needles and inserted and left for a short duration. This duration is no more than a week at a time. Through this process, the practitioner ensures that the metabolism and fat burning process becomes faster. This is also done with the help of herbal supplements that must be had at the same time.

Auricular Point Stimulation: The objective of this therapy is to stimulate those points in the ear which are known to have a deep connection with parts of the abdomen and digestive tract. This is especially helpful for those people who have an uncontrolled appetite and especially those who indulge in emotional eating. Some people may be put through a process of electrical stimulation in which the ears can be stimulated for prolonged periods of time. This is done by passing a high frequency electrical current in the needle that has been inserted in the point.

Safety and Warnings: While acupressure is considered as a safe discipline and practice, there are warning signs that one must look out for. Any undue pain, fatigue and stress should be warning signals that point at the fact that the treatment is not working as it should. In such a case, the therapy must be stopped on an immediate basis with the mutual consent of the practitioner and the patient.

Obesity and excessive weight gain can be fixed with a variety of natural methods including Auricular therapy, which gets to the root of the problem, namely uncontrolled appetite.

A proper keto cycle works for 4 weeks. Lets see the diet week by week

Week 1 –

You can alternate between or choose from the below mentioned options for entire week

Breakfast

  • Cheese pakora (fried in peanut oil / coconut oil)
  • Cheesy egg omlette with lots of cheese (cooked in olive oil and butter)
  • Cheesy scrambled egg with lots of capsicum (cooked in olive oil and butter)

Lunch

  • Simple salad (spinach, capsicum, mushrooms, stir fried in olive oil and butter, sometimes with chicken, sometimes with eggs and sometimes only veggies topped with lots of cheese)
  • Cream of palak soup with stir fried mushrooms / broccoli
  • Solkadhi and baked french beans (whole) with cheese
  • Cauliflower curry in coconut milk and coconut oil
     

Dinner 

  • Baked spinach with cheese and cream
  • Lemon chicken stew
  • Fried paneer pakora
  • Stir fried mutton with spices of choice
  • Cabbage salad / cabbage thoran with coconut (kerala style veggie)

 
Week 2

In this week we introduce a special mix of coconut oil, cream and butter. All you need to do is beat these 3 ingredients together and gulp it down. I know it is hard, but you will do it if you want to lose weight. If this sounds like a torture to you, mix it up with your tea or coffee decoction. Add whatever spice it takes for your tongue to accept this. Please dont add ay sugar, you can use artificial sweeteners like stevia and sugarfree natura. This mix will help a great deal in enhancing your fat loss. Lets call this coffee mix as bullet coffee.

Breakfast 

Bullet coffee (coffee / tea mixed with coconut oil, cream and butter mix)
 

Lunch 

  • Simple salad (spinach, capsicum, mushrooms, stir fried in olive oil and butter, sometimes with chicken, sometimes with eggs and sometimes only veggies topped with lots of cheese)
  • Spiced, fried paneer pakora
  • Red channa salad
  • Lemon chicken
  • Soya nugget curry
  • Stir fried lady finger with peanuts (maharashtrian style)
     

Dinner 

  • Stir fried french beans with cheese topping / cheese fondue
  • Cauliflower cooked in coconut milk and coconut oil
  • Cream of mushroom
  • Chicken stew
  • Cheese pakora
     

Week 3 

As the weeks progresses, keto diet is going to get tougher by each passing day. Week 3 calls for a fasting stage. So we are going to eat early breakfast, no lunch and after a 12 hour fasting, we will have a fat full dinner. This is called intermittent fasting. (read more about intermittent fasting)

Breakfast 

Bullet coffee

Lunch 

Fasting, just keep on sipping water and sugar less green tea / lemon water with pepper

Dinner 

  • 6-8 soaked almonds everyday for this week
  • Chicken in pesto sauce with paneer and spinach leaves stir fried in olive oil
  • Paneer chilly
  • Chicken barbecue with spinach and cheese salad
  • Spinach egg omlette with lots of cheese
     

Week 4

It really really getting very tough now. This week you are required to eat only dinners. While fasting for the entire day. Yes you can have green teas, lemon water (with salt and pepper), green teas (without sugar), and yes lots and lots of water. If fasting this strictly seems difficult to you, you can go back to week 2 and start following from there on again.


Breakfast

  • Black tea / lemon tea / peach tea (without sugar)
  • Black coffee
  • Lunch 
  • Green tea (without sugar)
  • Lemon water (without sugar)
  • Lots and lots of water

Dinner 

  • Stir fried green beans with coconut and peanut
  • Shezuan chicken
  • Spinach cooked in milk, cream and cheese
  • Stir fried veggies with spicies and cream dressing
  • Chicken stew
  • Thai chicken
  • Lemon chicken
  • Stir fried paneer with spinach and bell pepper
  • Almond flour pancakes

Well its summer now and I think we all have put on enough weight by gorging on hot, spicy and oily food during the winter. Well it is said that winter makes people hungry, I do not know about you but it surely made me hungry and it also made me put on a few kilos. Now the main problem is to how to lose the winter fat as summer is here and of course, you want to flaunt your perfect swimsuit body on the beach, don’t you? However, the major problem is the few pounds of flesh on the love handles, which is making all the women worry to death.

Well but don’t worry because I am going to give you a few workout and diet tips, which will make your body slim and trim again.

Therefore, the first summer diet tip is cut down the food you eat and go organic. Organic in the sense means eat more of salads, fruits, and vegetables. Avoid oil, butter, ghee, paneer, cheese, and other fattening dairy products. Switch to green tea, mint tea or lemon tea, any tea is fine as long as you do not add milk to it.

The best green tea can be prepared at home and the directions are given below:

  • Boil water in a vessel
  • Add Tealeaves, Lemon Grass, Tulsi / Basil Leaves, Lemon Juice, Elaichi / Cardamon   Lavang / Clove to it.
  • Boil the tea for 10- 15 minutes
  • Strain the tea in a cup, and add Jaggery / Gur or Honey as per your wish and mix well.

This is the recipe of healthy, tasty, aromatic, homemade green tea.

Work out regularly and make sure that you hit the gym daily. Unless you work out you will not be able to lose weight.

Every morning on an empty stomach, drink a glass of warm water mixed with a teaspoon of lemon juice and honey.

This is one of the easiest ways to reduce weight.

Control your diet - Remember weight loss plan is made up of 80 % diet plan and 20 % workout plan. Therefore, you ought to control your diet. Eat a light dinner in fact you should only eat salad and soup at night. Make sure that you eat your dinner at least 2 hours before you go to sleep.

Get good sleep, if you sleep well, then the metabolism of your body will be good which will in turn help you to burn your extra calories faster.

Hence, these are some of the tips you ought to follow to reduce weight this summer.

Include vegetables, fruit, grains, water and some amount of dairy. Try to eliminate meat and sugar from your diet for a month. Also, you can substitute white rice with brown rice or other grains like quinoa. Have oats for fibre and remember to drink plenty of green tea and water.  •Dietary Additives: Adding ingredients like almonds, prunes, blue berries, and even chia seeds will do wonders for your overall diet plan. Hello, Gaining weight in a healthy way is not ROCKET science. It just takes knowing a little bit about muscle physiology and exercise science. If you are not gaining weight than do not look much further for the answer. It is really not that complicated and really only breaks down to one or two or all of the following: 1. You do not maintain energy balance (Energy In vs. Energy Out). 2. You do not eat the right foods at the right times (poor food combinations). 3. You do not give your muscles enough stimulus (or reason) to grow. ENERGY BALANCE Here is the easiest way to understand energy balance: Energy Balance = Energy Intake – Energy Expenditure The balance of intake versus outtake is a critical starting point in weight gain or loss. If you have a SURPLUS of calories (positive energy balance) where the intake EXCEEDS the expenditure, you gain weight. If you have a DEFICIT of calories (negative energy balance) where the intake is LESS than expenditure, you lose weight. Simple enough. Now remember that a surplus of calories is ONLY one component of gaining weight! Three thousand calories of junk and empty calories is COMPLETELY different from 3000 calories of high quality carbs, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. Anybody who does not understand this does not understand the theory that a calorie is not a calorie. (You can determine your daily calorie intake using a good online calorie calculator or you can ask your general physician.) NUTRITION So in order to gain healthy muscle mass you need to provide your body with the essential nutrients it needs to promote new muscle growth. A healthy diet for most people is one that includes 5-7 portions of vegetables and fruits a day (a good balance is 3-4 vegetables and 2-3 fruits, 2-3 portions of whole grains such as whole grain barley, brown rice, and oats, and 2-3 portions of lean protein such as skinless chicken, low-fat plain yogurt, lentils, or eggs. Your diet should also include regular amounts of fish oils, nuts and seeds, plant oils, herbs, and spices. Remember, no one food can make you healthy on its own—aim instead for a varied and balanced diet. This means trying to include many of the seasonal fruits, vegetables and other foods into your diet on a regular basis, and varying your choices daily.

You can start with walk or else any physical activity during the day. Take high fiber and low carb diet. Include plenty of water during the day. You have to go slow and understand your body's nature. Begin with milder form of exercise and slowly increase the intensity.
