Laser Hair Reduction - The Procedure!

The presence of the excessive body and facial hair, a condition often termed as Hirsutism can be quite embarrassing for females. Waxing, threading, shaving, the use of hair removal creams and strips may provide a temporary solution but the problem surfaces within a month or two. The Laser Therapy comes as a blessing under such helpless situation. The Laser hair Reduction has gained immense worldwide recognition and appreciation. In this article, we will discuss the important points related to Laser Hair Reduction to help you understand the procedure better.

What is Laser Hair Reduction?
The Laser Hair Reduction is a hair removal procedure that utilizes a highly focused beam of light to get rid of the unwanted hair. As already known, the hair follicles contain pigments. It is these pigments that will absorb the light and will gradually result in the destruction of the hair.

Laser Hair Reduction Procedure

  1. The hair to be removed will undergo the necessary trimming (~ few mm just above the surface of the skin).
  2. It is important to adjust the equipment used in the Laser Reduction Therapy in accordance with hair color and thickness, the skin color, and the body area from where the hair will be removed.
  3. To ensure a better penetration of the laser beam as well as to keep the outer skin layer well shielded, the surgeon often makes use of a special cooling device or may even use a cold gel. Necessary precautions are also taken to keep the eyes protected from the laser light.
  4. Next, a pulse of the light will be focused on the area to undergo the treatment.
  5. In the meantime, the treated area will be under close scrutiny for any unwanted reactions or complication.
  6. At the end of the procedure, anti-inflammatory creams or ice packs may be used to soothe the treated area. One can also use cold water instead.
  7. The next session may be scheduled four to six weeks following the first one.
  8. In fact, the sessions will continue until there is complete hair removal from the targeted area.

The Associated Risks

  1. With a high beam light used, it is normal for the treated area to appear as if sunburned. The use of ice packs or even moisturizers can provide great relief. There may also be scarring, swelling or redness.
  2. In some rare cases, blister formation may also take place.

Precautions Before and After the hair removal

  1. Laser Hair Reduction requires precision. Make sure you are satisfied with the credentials of the surgeon. Always opt for an experienced surgeon with a higher success rate. It is better to be safe than to regret later.
  2. Refrain from any temporary hair removal procedures at least six weeks before the Laser Hair Reduction.
  3. You also need to keep the target skin area well protected from the sun rays. Most surgeons suggest minimum sun exposure at least six months before as well as after the hair removal. Make sure you use a good quality sunscreen.

I have done all the reports like cbc liver lft typhoidot dengue. All went normal. My esr is 15 .it been month I am feeling weakness in my leg joints. Kindly help.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury - Know Everything About It!

In general, anterior cruciate ligament injuries, or ACL injuries, are understood to be tears in any of the several knee ligaments joining the upper leg bone and the lower leg bone. This can vary from minor injuries, such as small ligament tears, to more serious cases, like complete tears or when the ligament and one of the bones gets displaced from the other. These injuries usually occur during sports activities, like soccer, basketball, football, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, etc. An untreated ACL injury can lead to a condition called an ACL deficiency. This can cause a lot of problems with regard to knee movements as the bones may rub against each other, causing a lot of pain. In some cases, the cartilage covering the ends of the bones may get damaged, eventually tearing and trapping the cushion pads supporting the knee joints.

Symptoms

Signs and symptoms of anterior cruciate ligament may include:

  1. You are unable to move properly.
  2. You experience immense pain while walking up and down stairs.
  3. You are unable to engage much in physical activities.
  4. Your knee begins to swell gradually.
  5. You can sense a loud popping sensation when moving your knee.
  6. You experience feelings of instability.

Causes
Anterior cruciate ligament injuries generally occur during sports. Here are some common possible instances that might happen during a game:

  1. Sudden arrest in motion
  2. An unsteady landing from a jump
  3. Direct blows to the knee from tackles
  4. Sudden shifts in direction

Treatment
Treatment of ACL injuries normally involves the following:

  1. Immediate medical attention along with intense first aid care
  2. Sincere adherence to the R.I.C.E model of self care -
    • Rest: Proper rest for a couple of weeks or months depending upon the severity of the injury
    • Ice: Using ice packs to help cool the nerves
    • Compression: Ice treatment further helps in compression
    • Elevation: When lying down in bed, it is strongly recommended that you keep your affected leg at a slightly higher position, through the use of pillows or cushions
  3. Success rehabilitative therapy for several weeks
  4. Anterior cruciate ligament surgery or reconstruction

Hi Priyanka Gawde Madam I am in accounting profession so basically whole day sitting job. But in Morning I am doing exercise half an hour for frozen shoulder & half an hour stretching & some yoga for weight loss. In whole day I consume 3 cup of tea having less sugar. Breakfast and lunch taking together in that sometimes taking kanda poha, upma sometimes biscuits with tea. In noon taking fruits one bowl like watermelon, Papita, Orange, Pineapple etc. In evening taking an Apple sometimes if I feel more hunger then eat Pani Puri at night 3 small chapati, pulses and vegetables (I am not eating all vegetables like only few vegetables to eat) one big spoon rice (Not every time with dal avoiding dal instead of that using specs) then went for walking every night after dinner walking 4 to 5 kilometres daily and also walking nearly 2 kilometres during the day and consuming 8 to 10 glasses of water.

Hello, As you have mentioned, having 3 cups of tea is fine, better to use double toned milk. Secondly, the first rule for weight loss happens to be small and frequent meals and no skipping of meals. Skipping meals is very dangerous. So in place of a heavy meal, cut it down to half a quantity if necessary, but never skip and/or combine your meal specially breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can always have lesser quantity for dinner. Also, tea and biscuits can be your snacks item, not a full meal. Let me tell you what happens when we do something like this in a regular pattern, our body goes into energy saving mode and starts storing energy thinking that it will help to generate energy during crisis period (skipping meals and/or avoiding food, ie, starving intentionally). This becomes the main basis for putting on weight (or getting fat). Coming on to the next thing, papita, apple, bananas, mangoes (not more than 2 a day) should be avoided, because these fruits basically helps in putting on weight not in weight loss. Daal & daal products, soy bean, paneer and non-veg food items is better be avoided during night time and/or in dinner. You can incorporate tender coconut water, more pulses, fruits like pomegranates, kiwis in your diet. Also, always try to have the seasonal fruits and vegetables, reason behind in that particular season our body does need those nutrients specifically. Like most of the summer fruits and vegetables tends to detoxify our body and maintain a stable body temperature in the hot climate. Coming up to the next issue, it is advisable not to lay down immediately after dinner but we should not strain our body with the amount of walking or exercise as in evening walk or morning walk. You should wash your hair twice weekly but can be washed more as needed. Always try to use mild shampoo. Along with use some home made hair packs. Eat a healthy balanced diet. Hydrate yourself well. Wear scarf while moving out to prevent from pollution.

Hi there! Your mother probably suffers from and is being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a rule, we do not chase CRP levels for a patient. We chase the symptoms and aigns i.e. The problems actually faced by the patient. CRP levels might or might not come down, with or without medicines. But there is nothing wrong with it. I suggest you stop getting repeated CRP levels assessed at your level. You'll be much happier. Let CRP levels be assessed, as and when required, by your Doctor. If clinically o/ symptomatically, your mother is better. That's the best thing. If she still has problems of pain, stiffness, etc. Her medication might have to be increased. Consult as required. Greying of hair is a normal aging process which starts around 30 years of age. The hairs which have already turned white cannot be turned back to black. But you can delay the process of greying of hair by some lifestyle modifications. Take adequate sleep and drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits and green leafy vegetables. • Quadriceps strengthening exercises- • Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
