Hi doctor. This is rajendra, M29. Weight 87 kg. Height 5'8" I used to go for gym for a month , maintain proper diet for that month and I quit. Next few months I see myself gaining weight more than I was before. I reach to 80 kg weight and then I gain 6-8 kgs after I quit doing exercises. Im a bachelor. I take only outside food .I want to be healthy. Kindly suggest me good diet .

Hi It seems when you quit gymming, you tend to eat the same diet as earlier. So because of the excess food which does not get burnt, the excess calories get accumulated. Start doing gymming regularly. Do more of treadmill and cycling. Eat more fruits. Drink more water. Avoid fried stuff. Take meals regularly. Dont skip breakfast Follow a proper diet plan.

Yes you can controll your weight but for this you have to do some modification in your diet & excercise. I am talking about healthy diet not dieting. You can lose your weight upto 5 kg by following a good diet plan & excercise or a healthy diet with right ratio of calories, protein & carb. You have to avoid such type of unhealthy food like fried, oily foods, fast & junk food, tea, coffee, sugary products & sugary drinks. You should take a healthy breakfast. If you want to lose your weight please don't skip it because it will help you to boost your metabolism, includes salad with lunch & dinner. Use 6 small meal pattern instead of 3 major meal.

It's better to change your lifestyle rather than have unnatural substances. Adjust your routine in such a way that you eat proper balanced diet and sleep 7-8 hrs of sleep. Avoid all junk food and sodas. Avoid all bad habits .Increase your level of activity (at least 30 mins of exercise daily,) and have more of salads and fruits which contain important nutrients.

1. Exercise daily for 1/2 hr 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hr interval instead of 3-4 large meals. In between balanced main meals (comprising of whole grains, whole legumes/fish/chicken/egg, fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy product), have healthy snacks- coconut water w/o cream, nuts, oilseeds, boiled egg, roasted chana, roasted makhana, muri with veggies, roasted chirwa, whole fruit with green tea. 4. Eat slowly chewing your food well 5. Avoid junk, processed, refined, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 6. Be active- take stairs instead of lift, walk instead of taking transport 7. Avoid skipping meals 8. Sleep & wake up early. 9. Have light & early dinner. 10. Find out the trigger for your headaches. Try chewing ajwain post main meals.

When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. Take high protein and high calories diet. Take whole pulses, egg,lean meat, paneer,soya milk, sprouts.take plenty of fruits. Take milk nd milk products. Take curd 2 times in a day. Do stretching exercise.

Your sleep disturbance needs to be evaluated, you need to be taught sleep hygiene, if no results you may need not sleeping pills, but some pills which promote sleep naturally increasing sleep neurotransmitters, like melatonin. One needs to sleep between 6 and 10 hours average is 8 hours, surely you are way down, get checked

Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.

To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy. 1. Have lot of fruits and fruit juices. 2. Take sprouts daily. 3. Eat lot of nuts like almonds, cashew, peanuts. 4. Drink full cream milk, curd, cheese, paneer. 5. If your are non veg you can have more eggs, chicken. 6. Dals have good protein. Have more rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. 7. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen. Currently you are not too much underweight. Work on your fitness and strength. Take a good diet. You will be fine.
