Dear Lybrate User, you may have come across a number of gimmicking advertisement of medicines which claim to decrease body weight in a very short time. Do not fall prey for such advertisement because the excess weight would not be shredded until each & every underlying cause of being overweight is diagnosed & treated. The basic role behind the process of accumulation of fat in human body is played by Metabolism. Metabolism is the set of life-sustaining chemical transformations within the cells of living organisms. The three main purposes of metabolism are the conversion of food/fuel to energy to run cellular processes, the conversion of food/fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates, and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes. Accumulation of fat indicates that a considerable amount of the calories which you are taking daily is not used up by the body & is stored as fat. In order to lose the excess fat you need to increase your rate of metabolism. Once your rate of metabolism or BMR is increased your body will use up the excess calories stored as fat in your body. First of all you need to rule out the possibility of the presence of any hormonal disturbance that may be affecting your metabolism. Just conduct a total Thyroid profile test of all your blood (also Serum Testosterone level in case of males). If the reports are within normal limits then you should proceed further to increase your metabolism. If you find any abnormalities in the report you should immediately consult a doctor.

Sir, Daily Im doing cycling for 40 mts and covering15 kms. And also performing TMT (CARDIO) for 30 mts on alternate days, and reaching10. 5 km/ hr with HR142. 0 for 6 to7 mts, Is it consider good tolerance limit for a 46 years men.

I will suggest you to get a legal stress test done as we want to rule out any blockages in the heart because you are able to do it only for 7 'minutes with heart rate of more than 100.

Dear sir Yes you can take watermelon as it has medium GI. Try to take water melon in the mid morning and you can take 1-2 medium bowl of watermelon in a day.

Hi lybrate-user, In order to gain weight, you must eat natural and simple foods for weight gain. Eat foods with high amount of calories than your required metabolism. Here are few food groups that you can have: 1. Eggs: Eggs are the best option when you are trying to improve your weight. Egg is a protein rich food with high amount of calories. They contain high amount of minerals and vitamins. Each egg contains around 70 calories and hence, adding eggs to your diet helps you to gain weight by increasing your muscle mass. 2. Nuts: Nuts are the most nutritious and protein rich food. They have lots of calories and help to build your muscle. They are healthy fats, which gives best results when you consume it on a regular basis. Nuts include almonds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts and pistachios. You can include a limited amount of nuts in your salad or you can have it as a snack. 3. Fruits: Fruits are the best sources of carbohydrates, healthy sugars, vitamins and minerals. Eating good amount of fruits everyday promotes your weight in a healthy way. These foods are rich in fibre and protein. Fruits like apples, bananas, grapes and mangoes can be consumed for gaining weight. Eating fruits with milk will give you best results. 4. GC will not help in any weight loss. You can only lose money over it. Only healthy nutrition and regular exercise can help in weight loss. Your height and weight seems to be okay. Do Exercise and be fit.

Hi for reduced weight you should work out as per you consume calories and it will take time just continue work out. Take following remedies for loosing weight 1.arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4.lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.

Dear Lybrate User, *To gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards

I am 27 years male. I had drank 2-3 peg of Vodka everyday from thi last 3 days. Now feeling totally body weakness. Still feeling like drankman. Not taken drink from last 24 hours. This has been done before 7 years before. I had drunk vodka of 4-5 pag. And feeling drankman and total body weakness still 10-15 days. I had drink many time vicky and nothing has to be done because of vicky. Is there any different in drunk vodka and vicky? Pls advise me on total body weakness and feeling drunkman.

Please take care of your health and avoid any kind of alcohol if possible. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and go for a medical check up along with some basic tests like CBC, ESR, blood sugar, TSH, urine routine etc. Eat only healthy food and avoid all types of outside food. Have lots of fluids and water (8-10 glasses of water ). Strike a balance in every thing that you do so that you can enjoy your routine and move towards your goals everyday.
