Hello, Thanks for the query. Please answer following questions before I can suggest any treatment for him. 1) Since when is he having diabetes? 2) Has it been always been not under control or only recently has the control gone down? 3) What is his HbA1c%? 4) The evening rise of body temperature has been seen since how long? 5) Did have Tuberculosis infection any time earlier? 6) Similarly getting breathless has been noticed since when? Get following investigations: 1) Full diabetic profile (Fasting, PP, HbA1c%, creatinine, urea, uric acid,), lipid profile, sputum test for AFB, chest x-ray Come back with all these details, or consult your local physician. His diabetes needs to be controlled first effectively. Ideally FBG <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c% <7, these are the standards to be reached. I await your response. Thanks.

Rhinoplasty - What You Should Know About It!

MBBS, MS- Surgery, MCh - Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Delhi
Rhinoplasty - What You Should Know About It!

We humans are obsessed with the way we look. This is despite the fact that we can only see what the mirror (or our pictures) shows and nobody can actually see their own faces. The nose is one part that very few are happy with. It is either too short, long, round, sharp, whatnot. To add to that, science has come up with the size and shape that can make one look beautiful. There are surgeries that can shape it up, so you can walk with your nose held high!!

Rhino, stands for nose, and plasty is for surgery. Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which is useful in correcting the shape and size of the nose. Earlier done as a treatment for people with chronic nasal congestion and blocks, it has gained popularity as a cosmetic procedure in the recent decades.

Why rhinoplasty:

As noted, rhinoplasty could be done for cosmetic and therapeutic reasons, some of them being:

  1. Nose completely out of proportion with the facial size
  2. Misshapen tip of the nose, which could be drooping, hooked, or bulbous
  3. Nostrils not in proper position or misshapen
  4. Asymmetrical nostrils
  5. Nasal bridge having lumps or bumps
  6. Externally visible deviation of the nasal septum, causing both cosmetic and breathing issues

During the surgical reshaping, cartilage may be added or removed to achieve the desired shape.

What to expect before the procedure?

Getting yourself in the right hands. Think about it, in the wrong hands, this surgery can have very serious effects, not just functionally but also cosmetically. You could then end up wishing that you were better off with the previous, misshapen nose. After the surgery, you will notice a different you in the mirror, as the nose has a telling effect on a person’s appearance.

At the time of surgery:

Depending on the extent of surgery, local or general anesthesia is used. General is preferred though. With a local anesthesia, you will be aware of the sights and sounds of the surgery.

Post the procedure:

Once the procedure is over, gradually expect the following.

  • A puffy face, as the tissue around the eyes and the nose will be considerably swollen
  • The nose will be covered with a splint for at least a week. This allows the bones and cartilage to settle down in their new position.
  • Use a cold compresses to help in pain control and reduce swelling
  • Take the entire course of antibiotics and pain killers
  • Sleep with the head of the bed elevated for the first one week postoperatively

Rhinoplasty is definitely a choice to improve appearance and self-esteem; the key is to place yourselves in safe hands. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Grapes Health Benefits

Grapes health benefits
It may surprise you to hear that the humble grape is actually considered to be a berry.

The average serving size for grapes is about one cup, or 32 grapes. As a useful measure, you can use the size of your fist to estimate the proper portion size for grapes.

Grapes are high in water content and good for hydration. Grapes are high in antioxidants

Cancer: grapes contain powerful antioxidants known as polyphenols, the resveratrol found in red wine famous for heart health is a type of polyphenol found in the skins of red grapes.

Heart disease: the flavonoid quercetin is a natural anti-inflammatory that appears to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and protect against the damage caused by low-density lipoprotein (ldl) cholesterol in animal studies.

The high polyphenol content in grapes may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (cvd) by preventing platelet build-up and reducing blood pressure via anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

High blood pressure
Because of their high potassium content, grapes are recommended to those with high blood pressure to help negate the effects of sodium in the body.

Constipation the high water and fibre content of grapes helps in constipation.

Hello, Thanks for the query. Curd itself is good. There is no need to add either salt or sugar. Salt in excess is bad as it adds sodium, and sugar is not good in excess or even in small quantities. Thanks.

Hello doctor I am ranu 27y old. I am very lean and want to gain some weight. Someone suggested me to take enduramass I used it around two months regularly but ni benefit. How can I gain weight?

Hello doctor I am ranu 27y old. I am very lean and want to gain some weight. Someone suggested me to take enduramass ...
Gaining weight is as difficult as losing it, if you are naturally thin. Skinny people complain that they can't put on any weight. If you want to build up weight, don't just eat high-calorie junk foods and rely on unnecessary supplements. Choose foods that are energy-dense and nutrient-dense whenever possible. Following are some tips to follow to increase your weight. You will take some time to gain the weight you need, but be patient. 1. If you have a rapid metabolism, then you must increase your daily intake of healthy foods (increase your intake of carbohydrates) to compensate for the rate at which you burn energy. Eat six smaller meals a day You should also eat more energy dense foods like healthy oils, dry fruits, seeds, nuts, pulses, etc. along with some starchy foods like potatoes, cereals, bread, pasta, rice, etc. 2. Consume more calories than you burn. Choose healthy calorie-dense food to add calories. Drink healthy beverages to add calories. Mangoes are rich in calories and carbohydrates, include them in your diet. 3. Eat healthy food frequently, 5-6 times a day - 3 larger meals and 3 smaller meals alternately. Separate them by at least 3 hours so you can digest each meal fully. Don't go without food for 5-6 hours after having a major meal. For example, if you wish to consume 3000 calories a day, you may eat 3 larger meals of about 650 calories and 3 smaller meals of about 450 calories. 4. Have a balanced diet. 5. Exercise regularly for putting on weight. Some thin people think that exercise is not good for them. This is not true, it keeps the metabolism high. Remember that eating alone is not sufficient. You don't want to gain fat but lean mass, so exercise is important. Resistance training exercises will help to increase your muscle mass, which in turn will increase metabolism. Learn to distinguish between weight gaining exercises and weight loss exercises. Note that if you do not get enough amino acids during exercise, the existing muscle may break down. Amino acids come from protein foods so you should eat such foods after exercise. Keep in mind that excessive exercise without putting back the energy you have used will not help you to put on weight. Homoeopathic medicine D-WORM ( ADVEN) Drink 1 spoon twice daily for 5 days and finish the bottle in 5 days.Thereafter start taking......... ALFA MALT ( SBL) Drink 2 spoon twice daily Report after 60 dayss
