Underweight is a term describing a person whose body weight is considered too low to be healthy. The definition usually refers to people with a body mass index (BMI) of under 18.5 a weight 15% to 20% below that normal for their age and height group. Low weight may be due to improper diet, reduced assimilation from intestine, illness, metabolism, genetics etc. Thus first we have to rule out any such condition, with this have a healthy diet with more proteins (legumes, eggs, fish, lean meat, vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water and go for regular exercise. A homoeopathic constitutional treatment will definitely help you a lot.

  • पाचन क्रिया को सुधारने में: खीरे में पाचन तंत्र से हानिकारक विषाक्त पदार्थों से छुटकारा दिलाने का गुण होता है. इसके साथ ही इसमें मौजूद एरैपसिन एंजाइम शरीर में प्रोटीन का पाचन एवं अवशोषण बेहतर करता है. अम्लता, कब्ज, सीने में जलन, गैस्ट्राइटिस और अल्सर आदि को भी दूर करने में सहायक है.
  • आंखों के लिए: खीरे में उपस्थित एस्कॉर्बिक एसिड और कुछ एंजाइम आँखों में हो रही सूजन को कम करने में मदद करते हैं. खीरे के कुछ स्लाइस काट कर फ्रिज में ठंडा होने के लिए रख दें. 10 मिनट के लिए एक-एक स्लाइस को अपनी दोनों आँखों पर रखें और फिर आँखों को गुनगुने पानी से धो लें.
  • सांस को तरोताज़ा रखने में: खीरे का एक स्लाइस काटें और अपनी जीभ की मदद से कुछ सेकंड्स तक मुंह के ऊपर वाले तले से सटा कर रखें. खीरे में उपस्थित तत्व लार के उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देते हैं और बदबू फैलाने वाले बैक्टीरिया का खत्म कर देते हैं.
  • सेल्युलाईट को कम करने में: खीरा सेल्युलाईट को कम करने में भी सक्षम होता है. यह त्वचा के नीचे से अतिरिक्त तरल पदार्थ को बाहर निकाल त्वचा में कसाव लाता है. इसके लिए आधे कप कॉफी में पर्याप्त खीरे का रस मिलाकर गाढ़ा पेस्ट बनाएं. फिर इस पेस्ट में एक चम्मच कच्चा शहद मिलाकर इसे प्रभावित क्षेत्र पर लगाएं और एक मलमल के कपड़े से लपेट दें. 30 मिनट के बाद कपड़ा हटाएं और फिर धीरे से पेस्ट को रगड़कर निकालें. इस प्रक्रिया को हर हफ्ते दो बार दोहराएं.
  • सन बर्न में: खीरा मैग्नीशियम, पोटेशियम और सिलिकॉन जैसे त्वचा के लिए आवश्यक खनिजों से भरपूर है जो ना केवल धूप की कालिमा को कम करता है अपितु त्वचा में एक नया निखार लाता है. खीरे को ब्लेंड कर प्रभावित त्वचा पर लगाकर सूखने दें और फिर ठंडे पानी से नहा लें. कुछ दिनों के लिए यह प्रक्रिया एक बार रोज़ दोहराएं.
     

खीरे के नुकसान:
* यदि आप साइनसाइटिस या पुरानी सांस की बिमारी से पीड़ित हैं, तो खीरा खाने से दूर रहने की सलाह दी जाती है.
* ज़रूरत से ज्यादा खीरे का सेवन आपको परेशान कर सकता है.
* खीरे की मूत्रवर्धक प्रकृति के कारण अक्सर पेशाब आता है जिससे आप चिड़चिड़ा और असुविधाजनक महसूस करते हैं.
* अनियंत्रित मात्रा में खीरा खाने से आप फूला हुआ महसूस करते हैं. आपको पेट में दर्द का अनुभव भी हो सकता है.

I am 24 years old and I want a suggestion for weight reduction plan. I am 5'10" tall and my weight varies from 78-85 kgs. Due to heavy loads of computer work for my Ph. D. Studies, I get a little time to do exercise daily. Sometimes my sleep is very irregular due to work load. Diet and lack of exercise are the two most important factors that contribute to obesity. While the modern day diet is becoming more and more full of fats, sweets and empty calories, it is becoming devoid of nutritious vitamins and minerals. The fibre content is also decreasing. One tends to stack up on junk food in an effort to take a quick bite while on the go. At the same time, physical activity is on the decline. One has increased access to vehicles and the need to walk or cycle is almost not present. Even for commuting short distances, one uses cars or two wheelers. All these things are readily contributing to this epidemic of obesity. When it comes to getting rid of the excess fat, one needs to work conscientiously and consistently on both the counts mentioned above. One’s diet has to be altered so as to include more and more natural fruits and vegetables. Processed food and junk food should be cut down to the minimum. A daily exercise regimen needs to be adopted. Exercising for 30-40 minutes for a minimum of 5 days a week is necessary. Homeopathy helps by regulating the metabolic system of the individual. Hye, Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Nuts are also a calorie-dense snack on their own; or add them to kheers or yogurt. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

Noodles and pasta are rich in calories and have high amount of carbohydrates. They are easy to make and also saves cooking time. If you are a non-vegetarian, you can also add lean chicken and a lot of vegetables to the noodles and pasta that will convert it into a high calorie and nutritious food and provide you essential minerals and proteins.

Adrenal Cancer - What are Its Symptoms

Cancer can affect even small glands like the adrenal glands. Adrenal glands are responsible for the production of hormones like cortisol and aldosterone. These glands are located above the kidneys and have two parts; the cortex and the medulla. Adrenal cancer generally affects the cortex of the adrenal glands. This type of cancerous tumour is rare and can be difficult to diagnose.

Most adrenal cancer symptoms are triggered by an excessive production of estrogen and androgen. Symptoms can also be caused by the pressure put on other organs by the tumour. Adrenal cancer symptoms are most easily noticeable in children as this is the stage where the body is changing and developing. Some of these symptoms are:

  1. Facial hair growth
  2. Excessive pubic and underarm hair
  3. An enlarged penis or clitoris
  4. Early onset of puberty in girls
  5. Development of enlarged breasts in boys

Symptoms of adrenal cancer in adults includes:

  1. Excessive weight gain in the abdomen and above the collar bone
  2. High blood pressure
  3. Irregular menstruation
  4. Easy bruising
  5. Depression
  6. Frequent urge to urinate
  7. Muscle cramps

Additionally, men with adrenal cancer that causes excessive estrogen production may notice an enlargement of breast tissue and tenderness in the area. Women suffering from excessive androgen production triggered by adrenal cancer may notice their voice deepening and facial hair growth. In most cases, adrenal cancer symptoms in women do not appear until the tumour presses on other organs. This includes symptoms like pain around the tumor, a feeling of fullness in the abdomen and difficulty eating because of this feeling.

The cause of adrenal cancer has not yet been determined, but conditions such as Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, Li-Fraumeni syndrome, familial adenomatous polyposis and multiple endocrine neoplasia can increase a person’s risk of suffering from this disease. A thorough physical examination and a detailed medical history is required to diagnose this disease. The doctor will also need a blood test and urine test. Additional tests that may be required include:

  1. Biopsy of the tumor
  2. CT scan
  3. MRI scan
  4. PET scan
  5. Adrenal angiography

Adrenal cancer can be cured if diagnosed in its early stages. There are three types of treatment for adrenal cancer; surgery to remove the adrenal gland, chemotherapy and radiation. However, adrenal cancer can recur and hence it is important to schedule and maintain regular check-ups with your doctor.
