Hi lybrate-user- it could be carpal tunnel syndrome- where a nerve is getting pinched in the wrist producing numbness/ tingling/ weakness in the hand (first three fingers are usually affected). An EMG/ NCS can diagnose appropriately.

It is one of the most treatable arthritis currently and you should consult a rheumatologist if possible in person who are specialised at treating diseases like ra. The therapy of ra has advanced if your mother continue to get substandard treatment all your joints will get destroyed and you won't be able to reverse that. Kindly choose a private consult for detailed treatment plan. I will try to help as much as possible you haven't got any sufficient treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. It is one of the most treatable arthritis currently and you should consult a rheumatologist if possible in person. The therapy of ra has advanced, but hcq is not sufficient. Other two medicines are of no use. If you continue to get substandard treatment all your joints will get destroyed and you won't be able to reverse that.

Hi, My mother has so much feet pain and she also caused by flat feet.She got so much pain while wake up in the morning and she didn't walk for even 10 mins her age is 43 weight 58 and height is 140 . We go to lot of doctors but did't work . Inject any medicine to her body after that she felt so tired can any one give the solution for it ?

This is due to plantar fasciitis. She needs to use soft MCR chappals to walk. Have one at home and one for outside use. Apply volini gel in the area during nights. Give hot water bag compress twice a day. Take a low dose pain killer along with antacid for two weeks.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Causes Behind Foot Pain And Its Treatment!

Foot pain is often characterized by a feeling of pain in the feet. The symptoms of foot pain can be felt in the heel, instep, arches, toes and sole of the feet. Usually foot pain can be treated at home.

Foot pain can be caused by the following factors:

  1. It can occur from an injury
  2. Obesity often leads to too much weight pressure on the feet, thus causing pain
  3. Aging weakens the bones and muscles causing pain
  4. Too much physical activity within a short period of time
  5. Deformities in the foot
  6. Broken bones
  7. Arthritis and gout
  8. Stress fracture
  9. Nervous system damage
  10. Sprains

Various exercises that are used for treating pain in feet are:

  1. Plantar fascia stretch: The exercise requires you to sit down in a comfortable chair, and then roll the arch of your foot on a round object. Repeat this exercise for some time in all directions.
  2. Sitting plantar fascia stretch: You need to sit in a chair and then cross one of your feet over your knee. Take hold of your toes and pull them towards you till they are comfortably stretched.
  3. Towel pickup: Place a towel on the floor and place your feet on it. Scrunch your toes to pick the towel up and release.
  4. Wall push: You face a wall and lean by placing your palms on the wall. Then, keeping the back leg straight and bend the front knee towards the wall till you feel a comfortable pull on your calves.
  5. Achilles tendon stretch: Loop a towel on the ball of your feet and pull your toes. As you pull the towel, remember to keep your knees straight. Hold this position for at least 25 seconds and then release it. Do the same for the other foot and repeat 4 times.

All of the above exercises need to be performed regularly to get the full benefit of these stretches. You may also use comfortable footwear to prevent the pain from coming back. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a physiotherapist.

Hello, you can follow these advises and precautions:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before as a warm up and cool down. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. I will explain you stiffness and pain reducing techniques, if interested. Wish you a happy and pain free life thanks.

Hello lybrate-user bony pains especially back and knees are common after pregnancies due to the lack of calcium and vit d supplementation. Start taking a diet rich in calcium and vit d and start quadricep strengthening exercises. You can also add calcium tablet and vit d powder to your daily intake if the pain still dosent subside then you can come for a consult.

Physio can help especially if the tear is small and partial. All the exercises need to be done under the supervision of a physio for at least 3 weeks. Thereafter, depending on how well your son is doing, physio might advise to continue exercising at home for another 3 to 4 weeks. Yuvraj singh, suresh raina & manoj tiwari all have had ligament tears. So we hope that solves the second part of your question & serves as an encouragement in your testing times. Regards, team.

Good physiotherapy good posture of sitting, standing and driving hot fomentation of back intermittently light but daily exercises for neck and back walk and use staircase to climb. Calcium and vit d vit b 12 good sleep check mattress avoid jerks avoid lifting heavy weights.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

Reasons can be-* cold weather *sitting in inconvenient posture constantly, without changing your position or without movement, *wearing ill fitting sandals, *lack of exercise or *internal disorder like arthritis. Point to observe- * if you have difficulty in climbing stairs, take lift while going upstairs. If there is no lift, go up slowly. * if it is due to strain of games or injury, take rest. * if it is due to obesity, reduce weight. * if it is due to constant sitting at a particular posture, change posture and engage in slow walk. * walking regularly at slow pace without unduly straining helps as it improves blood circulation around knee and eases the joint. *you can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take bryonia 200---twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 7 days
