I am 38 years old with diagnosis for early spondylosis. Ortho I consulted says I need to do surgery. Failing which I cannot have normal life. Is it safe to perform surgery?

This can be best answered by the surgeon who will perform surgery. At times even the best doctors/surgeon fail to perform well resulting in post-operative complications. Hai sir, recently I have met with an accident. My right ankle bone and left collarbones were got fractured. For my ankle I was on pop for 35days. My doctor has removed the pop and suggested me not to walk for 1 month. As I am working I cant spend for tht long by being at home. Please suggest on this.

Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Eat nutritious food including green vegetables, dairy products fruits do regular exercise. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Consult after 5 days.

Back pain increading in night means may be due to lying posture or the Mattress u are using.Once check it.Some times;changing mattress will correct tgr back pain.

I'm facing a lot of trouble with my legs . Before a week I wasn't able too walk cause of the heavy pain and weakness. I have been on medication its ok Now .but still if I walk or do any work I'm getting pain in my legs. Is it weakness or some fracture!

Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello dear its suspect that sacroiliatis and weakness of glutinous muscle. So you can go to a good physiotherapy centre near by where you can treated by ift for 2-3 days if pain reduce then do it continue if not get any difference then go for ultrasound therapy for 7-10 days. Also do glutinous and back strengthening and stretching exercise you will get rid from this problem. Best of luck.

Hi im siya 28 years old girl from delhi. Im having right side upper back pain which going to my shoulder and in my mid right side back. Its been 1 n half year pain here. I tried everything allopathy ayurveda homeopathy and physiotherapy as well ntg worked. Right right side of hand and stretching hand also increase my pain. Can anyone suggest how to cure this pain. Please do a ultrasound of whole abdomen as it could be due to gall-baldder stone - at least you can be assure you do not have it. Also a chest/cervical x-ray needs to be done Please do not expose your body to direct exposure of AC/fan - as this could be a maintaining cause of your problem. Take Rhus tox 200 and Bryonia 30 - thrice daily for next 10 days Give me a feedback.

Flat foot at times causes pain. But we must rule out other causes as well rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Physiotherapy usually helps any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. It may have to be further investigated do ask for detailed treatment plan. Yo do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. You must have x rays of your feet done. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned pain in legs and back increasing at night. Can you tell me whether there is any weakness in legs, numbness or any other associated neurological symptoms etc? you can start with physical therapy, calcium and vitamin d supplementation, gentle anti inflammatory medication like etoshine for 5-7 days, daily brisk walks for 2-3 km in mornings. We will again see after 2 weeks whether you are improving or not otherwise we will get some blood tests and x rays of the involved region. Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Dear lybrate user perhaps it's postural defect it must b corrected, first.*calcium deficiency. May b another reason. He, should go for aerobics indeed under d supervision of a physiotherapist. * avoid to bend down to lift heavy weight. * homoeo - medicine * @ rhus to 200-6 pills thrice a day. @ ruta g 200-6 pills, thrice a day. * avoid, lifting at, cold intake, wrong posture, sitting on computer late in d night plz, report wkly.

It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Back pain after prolonged sitting can be due to muscle strain or sacroilitis or disc degeneration. You can get relief by following these tips. 1. Sit with straight back and change posture in between. Do not hunch and feet should rest on floor while seated. 2. Take breaks in between work and walk. 3. Take rest when back pain is severe but a void total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily. 5. Take simple painkillers like paracetamol if pain is persistent. 6. Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 7. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling , numbness or weakness, consult your doctor immediately Don't worry such backaches resolve with proper care as advised above.

Please check for check for sugar, thyroid. She appears to be overweight and steps are to be taken for reduction of weight by 20 kgs over a period of 2 to 3 yrs. Diet control, exercise is a must for reduction of weight. You have not stated what steps you have taken so for. Meanwhile try this. Walking and pranayam is a must. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.
