My nose always blocked. Sometimes I feel my sensation was stop and whole body were pain. Specially back pain.
For nose block check if you are having nasal polyps - if so it will take sometime to get complete relief. You take ammon carb 30 - thrice daily for next 7 days and get back to me for further treatment. Also check if you are having any fever. Take mag phos 6x - twice daily for back pain.

How to get away from nervous thoughts like during exam, interviews, playing any tournament.

How to get away from nervous thoughts like during exam, interviews, playing any tournament.
Dear, age doesn't make us old or unfit, but inactivity coupled with poor eating habits and undisciplined lifestyle sure does. You exercise as a way of life and not as a boring chore you have to do. Understand that fit essential is not some statistical or mathematical measurement but an experience of freedom and jot within the body. Carrots and cucumbers, protein bars, sprouted lentils, fluids, herbal teas, timely meals, no processed n packed foods definitely help you. Always remember 3 D’s: Discipline, Determination & Dedication. And yoga of course! For that perfect balance of your mind body and soul with no tensions.

Sir I nees to improve my memory skills. Am forgetting name which = I heard. I can not remember much more days. How can I overcom this sir.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
If you are aware of any kind of stress then meet with a counselor and sort that out. You will experience a lot of improvement in memory. Here are some things you can do to get back your concentration and memory: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

Anxiety, tiredness in day time, no concentration, depression, bad mood, memory loss what I have to do for this problem.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Hyderabad
Hello , all the symptoms that you have described are suggestive of a depressive disorder. When left untreated it might last form a few months to an year or more. Mood invariably influences your thought process & that might lead to development of depressive cognitions & usually the performance levels tend to become less satisfactory. Coming to your query of memory loss. It is usually a result of decreased concentration that in turn affects the process of memory formation ( happens in three steps registration, retrieval & recall ) the first step registration does not happen in a proper way & this manifests as memory deficit. Please consult a psychiatrist to evaluate the severity of the condition, based on his or her evaluation your condition you would be suggested an appropriate way of managing the condition both pharmacological( if required ) & behavioural.

Dear user. I can understand. Your mind's job is to think. If you allow you to think without having control over it, it will always wander into negative territories. You should train yourself to keep your thoughts under your control. Cognitive therapy will help you in this case. Take care.

Dear , as in the case of any addiction, nicotine addiction also affects your depression slowly and systematically. Usually nicotine inhibits and influences gaba receptors of the brain which also controls and triggers serotonin. Because these are interdependent, the best option ios to stop smoking when you are under treatment for depression. Depression is usually treated with a combination of medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes and meditation. For more information, you may contact me. Take care.

How do I cut down on ciggeret's? Is smoking one ciggeret a day harmful for our health? What can I do to stop this habit?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
You should not cut down but stop all at once, and yes even one cigarette is harmful for your health.Nicotine gums are just an aid and need not be mandatorily used. You may use nicotine patches if you want any help to curb the physical urge since nicotine is the dependency causing substance in tobacco smoke. When quitting, you must take one day at a time. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing in the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here?s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world ? you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

General Physician,
Only strong will power, determination, attending AA meetings and diverting mind when tempted will help you stop alcohol or may need professional help from a psychiatrist or de addiction centre. Try to do meditation and yoga. Read good books and listen to music and if you are believer attend Bhajans Alcohol causes 7 types of cancer, including breast, mouth and bowel cancers. When you drink alcohol, cancer-causing chemicals are formed. Alcohol also affects hormone levels and makes cells even more likely to be damaged by smoking. The less alcohol you drink, the lower the risk of cancer. No type of alcohol is better or worse than another, it is the alcohol itself that leads to the damage, regardless of whether it is in wine, beer or spirits. And drinking and smoking together are even worse for you. Not everyone who drinks alcohol will develop cancer. But on the whole, scientists have found that some cancers are more common in people who drink more alcohol than others. Every year, alcohol causes 4% of cancers .Tips to cut down on alcohol. There are lots of simple ways to cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink. It can help to work out if there are particular times or situations when you tend to have a drink, whether that’s a bad day at work or a weekly pub quiz tradition, and plan what you’ll say and do differently next time. Have more alcohol-free days a week. For liver health it’s best to have at least 2 days off alcohol in a row each week. Try agreeing on certain days with your partner or a friend and help each some wi other and stick to it. If you are planning to drink alcohol, decide on a limit in advance and make sure you don’t go over it. Swap every other alcoholic drink for a soft one – starting with your first drink. Try shandy instead of a pint of beer, or swap ne for soda and have a spritzer. Don’t stock up on beer, wine or spirits at home. Finish one drink before pouring another, because topping up drinks makes it harder to keep track of how much you’ve had and when you planned to stop. Avoid buying drinks in rounds, that way you don’t have to keep pace with anyone. Tell a friend or partner that you’re cutting down on alcohol, they can support you – or even join you.

India is the capital for diabetes mellitus (sugar) in the world. So no need to be shocked or worried about it. It is only a metabilic disorder. If you understand it in a scientific way and modify your lifestyle accordingly, it is no more a problem. The disease can not be cured. But can be kept under control and escape from its ill effects by obeying the following 3 mantras; 1. Proer diet 2. Brisk walking everyday for 50 minutes at a stretch 3. Taking tablets prescribed by a qualified doctor and fllow-up periodically. When compared to the ill effects of uncontrolled blood sugar for a prolonged period, the side-effects of antidiabetic drugs are very very negligible. Moreover, the recent antidiabetic medicines are safer than the older ones. Get an appointment of a diabetologist immediately.
