Thats extremely strong wiled of you to stop smoking. Hold it like that for 2years and you would have been cured of smoking addiction for life. Yes small psychological and somatic symptoms are common initially and these will also go in a short time. Be motivated. Keep it up.

Im nikul 21years old from raipur im getting tempered on silly silly questions so wat can I do for control my anger on other persons during every time. And im a business man too im getting tempered on customers during some times plzz share me some plans.

PGDPC
Psychologist, Pune
Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, nice of you to notice and try to take steps to resolve this issue. Try and take an objective view of events, situations and people. As you are in business take some time out to figure out how best to serve your customers. Develop objectively plans for yourself and your business. If you do face some minor short comings handle them in a open manner keeping your long term interest in mind. The moment you do feel anger take a deep breath or two and again re look at the situation. It may be that you may find more effective way to handle the situation. I do wish you all the best. With regards,

Can activated charcoal be taken for cleansing of stomach? I have digestion problems due to anxiety, fear and stress.
Cleansing stomach is a misnomer believed by common men and quacks. STRESS CONTROL There are many ways to tame your stress and keep it at bay. Here are tips to tame your stress today, and keep the stress monsters at bay. 1. Perform diaphragmatic or “deep breathing” exercises. 2. Lie face down on the floor and begin breathing deeply and slowly, with your hands resting under your face. Do this for five minutes. 3. Sit in a reclining chair. Put a hand on your abdomen and a hand on your chest. As you breathe, make sure the hand on your abdomen is moving up and down rather than one on your chest. If the hand on your abdomen is moving you are breathing deeply and slowly. 4. Try progressive muscle relaxation or “deep muscle” relaxation. Progressively tense and relax each muscle group in your body. Learn the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. 5. Meditate. Use visualization or guided imagery to help you learn to be one with your thoughts. Sit quietly with your eyes closed, imagining the sights, sounds and smells of your favorite place, such as a beach or mountain retreat. 6. Exercise regularly or take up yoga.

Recently I am facing problem with my memory. I am finding hard to recollect think I know very well. Including famous movie names and famous actors. Eg: finding hard to recollect word which I had previously used multiple times spontaneously. This is happening frequently. Here I mean I am finding hard to recollect. Once I recollect I am good. Daily tasks I can remember but recollecting old memories that are learnt in the past and very good at it.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Memory and mind power depends on three aspects. Understanding, retention and recollection. Recollection is easy if your retention is proper and flawless. Retention is possible when you are able understand what you read or learn. To understand you should have concentration. Concentration comes from effective learning techniques based on creative and active learning. Physical exercise, outdoor games, entertainment, socializing coupled with systematic learning improves your memory and mind power. Brain games like sudoku and jigsaw puzzles helps too. I suggest online education counseling. Take care.

Dear lybrate-user, Welcome to Lybrate. Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. Nicotine and other chemicals can cause cancer of different types and areas. Throat cancer, mouth cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer and brain problems can result. Over and above smoking may also increase the risk factor of heart attack and brain stroke. Please quit smoking. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. If you’re ready to stop smoking and willing to get the support you need, you can recover from nicotine addiction and abuse abuse—no matter how bad the addiction or how powerless you feel. The first step in treating nicotine addiction is accepting that you have a problem. Confronting an addiction and accepting responsibility for your actions isn’t easy. But it’s a necessary step on the road to treatment and recovery. You should then consult a psychiatrist / psychologist who fill follow this treatment. 1. Detoxification using medicines. 2. Behavior modification with the help of therapies. 3. Counseling. 4. Medication to sustain and 5. Long term support. These given steps are essential for any addict to get effectively rid of smoking. Therefore, you need to stick to the treatment plan and cooperate with your psychiatrist / psychologist. Mind power building therapy, motivation therapy etc should help you doing so. I suggest you to consult a psychologist or de addiction therapist. Take care.

What to do to quit smoking? I take 10 cigarette per day. I use marlboro advance cigarette.

Dear, the earlier you can stop this habit, the healthier it can be for you. The lower taste and sinful habit of alcohol or smoking can be stopped by replacing it with the higher taste. Simply read nice books which give you a higher meaning to life than chemicals in alcohol. In place of alcohol, spend your time by doing yoga and Chant the names of God Who you have faith in.

Madam, eventhough you may be better as of now, relapse of depression can occur. The medicines help maintain the neurotransmitter balance in the brain. If your history of depression is long, it is advisable to keep meeting your psychiatrist regularly and continue medicine as per instructions. Feeling right now and having a worse episode later may be catastrophic. Its just like immunisation. You can choose not to get vaccine of a certain illness by avoiding the injection but later the consequences are severe.

Anxiety results due to stress and tension, and having anxiety and stress like symptoms for a longer period can lead to decrease functioning of immunity which may effect your physical health. Also when we are in anxiety, we can not think in a clear manner and difficulty in thinking and decision-making. Therefore, relaxation exercises keeps one calm and positive instead of negative.

I believe you are physically very weak. Eat healthy heavy breakfast after 2-3 hours when you wake up in the morning. Don't keep yourself hungry, eat small quantities of healthy food at regular intervals. Do some relaxation exercise like go for a thirty minutes walk or dance or some outdoor sports activities. Take deep breaths when ever tensed. Drink lots of water. Take enough sound sleep.

I am 62 plus. About 12 years back I had a road accident in which there was no serious external injury but I had a flat fall on the road and at that time felt that my spine was fractured because I was not even able to breath properly. After helped by bystanders, gathered courage and with very great difficulty drove back to my home which was 23 kms. After overdose of pain killers, hot fomentation and analgesic massage, I recovered within 3 days and was back on normal routine work. But after that I developed trembling in my hands, when I am under pressure or even a slight tension or anxiety. Gradually it increased and now at times when I am in hurry to do something or to go some where or have even a little pressure apart from hands I feel mild shiver in my whole body and in such situation I feel difficulty in putting my signatures properly. But I drive car without any difficulty even under tremendous pressure when my whole body appears to be not under my conrol. I use to brisk walk for about 5 kms and sprint running for about 500 mts and also some breathing exercise. I am not diabetic. However little hypertensive. No other pathology. Am I developing parkinson? is it curable or otherwise?

If the tremors have appeared after the accident, then you could be suffering from depressive/anxiety illness. But if the tremors are not related to the accident, then it is called benign essential tremors. Visit a psychiatrist/and or a neurologist for effective treatment.

Dear user. I can understand. You are just 22 and you were smoking just for 5 years. You could be a habitual smoker or an addict, but the 5 year period is not enough to trigger withdrawal symptoms when you quit smoking. Therefore there is nothing to worry about withdrawal symptoms or muscle pain or cramps. Take care.

The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job or loss of loved person" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks The common symptoms are (few might be present in a person with depression) Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort Changes in appetite — often reduced appetite and weight loss, but increased cravings for food and weight gain in some people Anxiety, agitation or restlessness Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or blaming yourself for things that aren't your responsibility Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.
