You must take boiled egg and sprouts for protein. Dry fruit you can take 8 to 10 pcs. Daily early morning. Do massage with seasame oil one inch above and one inch below the knee daily at night for some days.

Hi lybrate-user. As you have said you have hip arthritis I consider that you got diagnosed for it. If not get the check up and investigations done. Treatment depends on the findings of the radiographs and the integrity of joint. As you are telling it's 10-12 years don't delay more.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

I have been prescribed Maxgalin M 75 twice a day n Dulane 30 once for fibromyalgia. As well as nervijen plus injection once a month. It is since a year I am taking. Have I to take life long all these medicines. Is fibromyalgia related to thyroid as I am having thyroid also.

It is not related to thyroid. Atleast for 2 to 3 years you have to take if you are getting relief with medicines. Hope that by that time we might be able to solve your problem with proper medical insight for fibromyalgia.

Kindly show me your investigation reports. If it is really gout, then febucip 40mg (cipla) bd should help you. Also take caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10 contact me again for follow up. You have to change your life style no smoking, no alcohol, no non veg food, no late nights, no severe work outs/dances etc. Etc. Ciploric should never be stopped suddenly. Take at least 1 month to wean it off completely.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Causative Factors Behind Insomnia

Insomnia is the condition of acute sleeplessness, and it takes a heavy toll on your mood, your energy levels, and your ability to concentrate and work during the day. Some of the most common symptoms of the condition are:

  • You find it difficult to fall asleep even if you are tired
  • Once you wake up in the middle of the night, you cannot get back to sleep
  • You cannot work or concentrate on anything during the day
  • You stay mostly fatigued, or irritated throughout the day
  • You have to depend on pills or alcohol to fall asleep.
  • You wake up very early in the morning, no matter how late you sleep

What could be the causes for insomnia?

Insomnia might last just a few days if it is induced by some temporary cause, like stress at your workplace, or any other personal issue you can be facing. However, when the cause is a long rooted one, insomnia might persist for a long time. There can be a mix of many causes for that to happen:

  • Psychological stress or other emotional discomforts - Common psychological problems like anxiety, depression, chronic work stress, grief, and also bipolar disorder can be the causes for insomnia.
  • Illness or other medical problems - There can be many medical causes or other illnesses at the root of insomnia like allergies, acute asthma, hyperthyroidism, Parkinson's disease, kidney related diseases and cancer as well.
  • Medications - There can be many drugs, which might be prescribed by your doctor, but still be responsible for insomnia. These include antidepressants, corticosteroids like thyroid hormone medicines, few blood pressure medications, certain contraceptives and stimulants for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
  • Sleep Disorders - Insomnia, though in itself is a sleep disorder, can also be the symptoms for other sleep disorders like sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and other disorders related to jet lag or if you are working on a late night shift.

In addition to these causes, some daily lifestyle habits might act as triggers to insomnia, which include:

  • Consumption of large amounts of caffeine on a regular basis
  • Developing irregular sleep schedules
  • Taking your smartphone to bed and ending up spending a lot of time with it in the night
  • Eating late in the evening

Lybrate-user having pain in knee of your is nothing to do with diabetes provided their b sugar is under control - having pain in knee for 3-4 days could be linked to some un-knowing traumatic injury or strain in ligament or osteo-arthritic changes in knees - go for uric acid test / ra factor / and x-ray knee will help us in ruling out certain possibilites. For the time being put a cotton clothe soaked in hot salted water and apply over knee with give some relief.

Living With Arthritis - Foods To Pick OR Kick
Foods to eat/ avoid for arthritis and inflammatory pain

Different foods have different properties. Here are some foods to have and a few you must refrain from if you are suffering from arthritis and inflammatory pain:

Include these foods in your diet.
1) cherries - these contain anthocyanocides which assist in lowering uric acids, thus reducing the level of pain.
2) ginger - eating fresh ginger of drinking ginger root tea is advisable if suffering from arthritis and inflammatory pain. The gingerols present in it include anti-inflammatory compounds which are extremely helpful.
3) pineapple - there exists in pineapples, an element called bromelain which is a very effective anti-inflammatory.
4) raw apple cider vinegar - anti-inflammatory properties of raw apple cider vinegar are also very beneficial. It can be consumed by drinking a tablespoon of the vinegar mixed in about 250ml water or as salad dressing.
5) turmeric - turmeric or as we call it haldi, has anti-oxidant as well as anti-inflammatory properties.
6) omega 3 fatty acids - omega 3 fatty acids also have anthocyanocides. Which lower the levels of uric acids. Eating more of chia seeds, flax seeds and fish is also encouraged.

And the foods to avoid are,
1) sugary foods - sugary foods are like toxins which cause inflammations and lead to more pains in the body. Hence, avoid foods with excessive sugar when suffering from arthritis and inflammatory pain.
2) omega 6 oils - these oils, if consumed in high amounts, cause inflammations. It is advisable to replace these foods with healthier foods.
3) fried foods: deep fried foods are cooked at high temperatures and thus induce inflammation.
4) salt - this happens to some people where excess intake of sodium increases the pain in the joints. Hence, lowering consumption is not a bad idea.
