It is natural to feel low and miss the person you have lost. However if it is interfering with your sleep, studies or general well being, or if you feel suicidal, you need to consult a psychiatrist. It is common to feel low, cry, feel like you are alone, or lose your self confidence. Usually time is the best healer. However if things are too difficult to handle you should talk to a psychiatrist or counselor. Confide in someone close to you, who will support you in this difficult time. Don't cut off from friends or family, even if you feel like you want to be alone.

Hello. Consult a psychiatrist in person. Your mother will require a mental health assessment including investigations (if required) and treatment review. If she is not showing any improvement then either drug dose needs to be optimized or a new drug will be introduced. Thanks.

If it is interfering with your work or personal life, or affecting your sleep or appetite, consult a Psychiatrist immediately. Anger issues are usually an indication of an underlying problem which needs to be addressed further.

Sir I m suffering from fever since two days. My whole body is getting too much pain. Please suggest me.

MBBS, MD - Community Medicine
General Physician, Jaipur
Sir I m suffering from fever since two days. My whole body is getting too much pain. Please suggest me.
Hi, Fever may be simple/ self-limiting viral infection, or it may a symptom some serious illness like typhoid/ malaria/ Dengue/ TB or many more like that. It is decided by symptoms provided by you, and a battery of investigations. But short term fever is most likely viral fever. Therefore, follow the advice and consult doctor with detail symptoms. 1. Take rest for 1-2 days. Wear light and cotton cloths, it helps in cooling of body. 2. Take Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg (as and when required; after food) for fever (more than 99 F) for 3 days. Maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hours can be taken in a day. 3. If fever persists, do cold sponging (with cold water even ice water if needed) to lower down temperature. 4. Drink plenty of fluids. 5. Take adequate rest and proper sleep. Going to work, working out may just make you feel worse as the extra action adds stress to your body. Inadequate sleep decreases immunity of body, which causes worsening of illness. 6. Take proper diet preferably homemade like dalia, khichdi, rice, dahl, chapatti, vegetable soups or steamed veggies. 7. This is season of dengue, therefore, if you have high grade fever, and body ache, then have Platlet Count from nearby Laboratory. Consult again if symptoms persist or worsen. ***Get Well Soon*** “Cold sponging is the best treatment if fever is uncontrolled.”

Dear, Welcome to lybrate. At your age, Memory problems like amnesia, dementia or Alzheimer's are not common. Many young people do complain having problems with memory. These problems are due to either they are too busy or due to anxiety and stress. Busy people use organizers or employ a personal assistant because they can't remember every task. You need to understand this. If you still say, you are having memory problems, we need to check your memory using memory test. You may contact a clinical psychologist or neurologist for memory test and further investigation. Memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. You may consult a psychologist online or in person for advice, counseling and therapy.Take care.

I have a problem. I'm not able to speak with girls seeing their eyes. Please help me to get rid of this habit

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

You lack confidence around girls. You probably become too self-conscious, and for some reason underrate yourself. The greatest problem I notice with some men with this type of problem is the discomfort of talking to girls, assuming that there is something sexual. This is a perception unfortunately in our society. It is not normal. You are a nice tall, strapping man, and girls will love to be in your company, without any secret or sexual agenda. So, dispel that idea out of your head, you will feel a lot more at ease talking to them looking into their eyes. Don?t encourage any other ideas in your head but that I am talking to a girl and she is my sister who needs my respect. Incidentally, the eye-to-eye contact does have a little intimidation to it because it feels like the person can see deep into you and you are all exposed. This is fortunately a total fallacy and the belief can make you uncomfortable. In my profession I have to look directly into the eyes of my counselors and I wish I can find out all of that person's secrets! It is just not possible. So face the girl and talk to her. In fact, many girls will mistakenly feel that you are shady, perhaps hiding something unpleasant, or have ulterior purposes. Would you want them to believe in all those lies! On the other hand, if you look them into the eye, they will feel that they can trust you, and that you are a safe person. What a contrast!
