Not very safe for long term use. It is a medicine supposed to be taken in emergency otherwise you need to take regular medicines to prevent headaches from happening.

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Pain in the shoulder region can be due to many causes like tendinitis, joint issues, bursitis, and other affections. If you have no visible s/s of any inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or any local warmth etc then I will advise you to start with - physical therapy - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol etc for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d intake as per your requirement - avoid heavy strenuous activity involving your shoulder till pain completely subsides. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Severe neck pain and radiating to the mid parat of the scapula.

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned neck pain with radiation up to scapular region as your problem. If you have no other associated symptoms like numbness, weakness of limbs, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home, modalities like tens can be started for radiating pain - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. If you do not improve in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards

I am 25 years old. I have a problem with my lower back sometimes it pain. What I should do?
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I have back ache for the past 5 or 6 tears. Alopathy doctors advise not to go for any massage treatment for this particular problem. Is it true?

MPTh/MPT
Physiotherapist, Indore
Back pain starts with simple muscle fatigue initially but as soon as it start people goes to allopathy Dr. And that's how things starts to deteriorate. Simple stretching of back muscle, hamstring (google it-hamstring, glutes and erector spinea muscle stretching) can cure most of the back pain which are because of the long standing working pathology. But if it has become converted in to chronic do not go for it until suggested by an expert physio. For massage, it's again a vague term, a physio will use myofacial release to cute tighten tissue and will help in relieving pain and stiffness regards.
