I have problem in speaking. Efforts are put to talk. At times I have breathing problem while sleeping. I always feel sleepy and tired.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Improper or insufficient and snoring while sleeping can lead to tiredness during day, and also reduce power to speak. Sleep on one side of bed. This helps to reduce snoring or breathing through mouth while sleeping. The following tips help one to easily get into sleep: a) have bath regularly in evening after coming from work or before going to bed. B) do not engage mind in active work or stressful talking at night before bed time. C) do not engage mind in too much of computer work in night before bed time (for example, do not do stock market work in night). D) do not read or view illicit or pornographic material at any time preferably. E) do not take heavy meals in night. Best is to have heavy breakfast, lighter lunch and lightest dinner to maintain stomach rhythm which affects sleep. Vegetarian diet is best for good sleep. F) do not over engage mind in television in night. H) do not smoke cigarette, chew tobacco, tobacco containing masala, or similar intoxicants which can disturb rhythm of mind and disturb sleep cycle. I) no tea or coffee in night (preferably cocoa and caffeine containing drinks should be totally avoided for best results). J) listen to relaxing music and even then if you do not get sleep, then hear soothing stories or nice talks from our rich vedic literature.

Whenever I have sex with my girlfriend, I gets ejaculated within 5 seconds. Same thing happens every time and even while masturbating. Please tell me the solution of this problem.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Premature ejection is often due to physical changes occuring in the body due to aging. The problem is often an inadequate blood supply in the penis. When the arteries in the penis become partially clogged with fat and cholesterol, maintaining an erection becomes more difficult. When this occurs, your brain tells your body that you'd better ejaculate before you lose your erection, and a pattern for premature ejection is developed. Tips to deal with this situation. Live a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain good arterial health. Eat two or three cloves everyday to get long lasting erections. Take finely chopped carrots and add one table of honey and half boiled egg. Take this mixture regularly to get effective results.  Your potency will be prolonged if you eat a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet, exercise regularly, don't smoke or drink and keep your stress managed along with proper homoepathic treatment. .

I have blood sugar tested on 08-03-2015 Fasting - 139 and post fasting - 253 . This is first time. 3 months before I had checked that fasting was 114. Please suggest.

MD - Pathology
Pathologist, Noida
TO call any one as diabetic , your fasting sugar values should be more than 126 on at least two different occasions. ( Why ? - because fasting levels show much variations) Plus do you have any symptoms ? (like increase urination, increased thirst , etc) . Also an HbAic test would really help in this case. Currently a value in excess of 6.5 % is considered as diabetes.

I am non diabetic but has family history of diabetes For last two years I am having hypoglycemic reaction . Now having uti problem also on investigation my sugar fasting is 112 & pp is 127 and uric acid is 6.8. Should I start medication for diabetes or not ? Still having low sugar eposide means sweating & weakness. What are reason ? Please help.

Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS
Endocrinologist, Mumbai
Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, your sugars are in the borderline range for diabetes esp. The fasting. Also your uric acid is towards the higher end of the normal. Since you hv a family history of diabetes, I recommend you to start metformin after consultation with your diabetologist. Also try to follow a proper diet & exercise regime to have good results.
