But I get blood in my saliva sometimes if I talk too much for the whole day in my school and private tuitions I am taking colostrum capsules. Dentist and oncologist said not a concern because my oral health is superb. What is the problem?

Dear lybrate user, good to know that you've quit the habit. Add a pich of salt to a glass of lukewarm water and rinse your mouth three times daily. Brush gently twice daily with a soft toothbrush to maintain good oral hygiene. Get yourself monitored regularly. Avoid eating heavily fried, extremely hot and spicy food. Consume lots of fluids, water and fruits. Establish a healthy routine by taking out time to exercise and try to stay stress-free. Too much workload is harmful.

Hello. Hyperpigmentation could be because of many reasons. So, get thorough body check up done and share the reports with me. Meantime, you can start using Bioforce's Blooume - 55 ointment (for clear skin) twice daily and also use Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen, 20-30 minutes before stepping out under the sun along with oral medication – Sepia 200/ once daily for 20 days.

Why Is Banana or Papaya Healthier Alternatives for Apple?

M.Phil biotech and PGD Dietitics
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Panchkula
Why Is Banana or Papaya Healthier Alternatives for Apple?

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but Minions seem to disagree. An apple being the fruit of choice for millions of households across the world, recent studies show that apples may not be as good for you as you’ve been led to believe. For starters they have high sugar content, for the calorie conscious, which might be a bad revelation. The really high fiber content of apples is known to induce stomach aches. Studies show that most apples in the regular market are laden with pesticides, which are harmful for human consumption. Apples are known to cause allergies too and not to forget, apple seeds contain trace amounts of cyanide.

So if not apples, what is supposed to keep the doctor at bay? The world is going ga ga over bananas. Bananas and papayas are two easy to resource, lower priced alternative as the household fruit of choice. Here’s why.

  1. Papayas and Bananas contain fewer carbohydrates and more protein than Apples and hence instantly making them a better choice for calorie conscious.
  2. High levels of Tryptophan, make bananas and papayas a natural antidepressant and stress buster.
  3. Both are rich in Anti oxidants which helps in preventing and fighting cancer.
  4. Bananas protect an individual against type 2 diabetes and aid in weight loss in this new age of morbid obesity that makes it quite a selling point.
  5. Both fruits being rich in vitamin C are known to boost immunity.
  6. Papayas are rich in flavonoids, vitamin A and beta carotene, which protect the mucus membrane of the eye and are known to prevent age related retardation of eye sight.
  7. Bananas and Papayas help prevent swelling of joints and work well to prevent arthritis.
  8. Both fruits are known to help ease menstrual cramps.
  9. Papaya is rich in vitamin E, vitamin C and antioxidants like beta-carotene which helps prevent your skin from free radical damage keeping wrinkles, marks and signs of ageing at bay.
  10. Papaya is known to encourage hair growth and fight against hair fall.
  11. The duo is known to improve overall digestion as well. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Gently wash and care for your skin every day. Avoid scrubbing too hard or washing too often. Avoid heavy sweating if you think it causes your acne to get worse. Wash soon after activities that cause you to sweat. Wash your hair often if your hair is oily. Try to keep your hair off of your face. Avoid hair care products such as gels, mousses, cream rinses, and pomades that contain a lot of oil. Avoid touching your face. Avoid exposure to oils and harsh chemicals, such as petroleum gel. I got big pimples last month and now I have big marks and pores on my cheeks what should I do now any medicine please?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I got big pimples last month and now I have big marks and pores on my cheeks what should I do now any medicine please?
There are four main factors which causes acne: Oil production Dead skin cells Clogged pores Bacteria Factors that may worsen the acne: Androgen hormones, certain medications (drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium can worsen acne), dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips — may trigger acne and Stress can make acne worse. Management: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Use home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. (We can't treat acne pits with these oral medicines).

Hii sir I am suffering from fever.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
Hii sir I am suffering from fever.
Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as body's natural defences against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at higher temperatures. Also, the body's defence mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or higher may be dangerous and demand immediate treatments like: -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used for fever in children/ adolescents or during a viral illness. -Wear loose fitting clothes and don’t overdress. Overdressing can cause temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever  -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -A fever can cause severe dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids.. Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami, Amla juice etc.  -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals like sprouts.avoid outside food -Wash hands frequently with soap and water especially after returning from public places or public transport.  -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly
