Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!). Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

I suppose you are talking about delhi, the most polluted city and no rainfall this year. Temp. Is still 35-39 degrees and air is dry. Cooler can be used. One can use muslin/malmal dupattas/dhoties and wet them, spread them in a corner of room-works better than a humidifier available.

I am a thin guy and I want to gain some weight What is the easiest and quickest way to achieve it?
To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow this regimen and you will soon start seeing the results.

Pimples are due to hormone problem. Due to hormone some obstruction take-place at sebaceous gland. And sebum get saturate there and pimples are there some time due to blood impurification also pimple is occur so take following remedies take following remedies 1. Hi I have a pain in my neck from Saturday. I have consulted a doctor and as per the xray and diagnosis he informed there is a slight tear ( or scratch ) in the disc of upper portion of spinal chord. Just below the neck. I find very difficult to sleep in any position. I have the xray image. Kindly suggest me your best advice. I can send the X ray image as well

If your xray is there can you send me. But as per your pain xray is not suggestive of any type of tear in disc because disc is not visible in xray. And as per my suggestion you should do an MRI of cervical spine to get the confirmation of disc tear. Thanks

You need to identify why you get so angry. If this is a recent phenomenon, then it will be easy to identify what caused that disturbance and it can be sorted out. If it is from your childhood and you have suffered this reaction for a long time, then you will need to go back into childhood and find out what went wrong to make you so upset. Your parents will be able to help locate the cause. You can then go to a counselor and learn about anger management, which is not to control your anger but to learn to express it in appropriate ways. You must also examine yourself to see if you act angry whenever you are scared. This then means that you have chosen to escalate anger over your fear for some reason: it may have to do with feeling more powerful with anger than with fear or you may have received more attention by acting angry. Work on these issues and come out of this behavior through some counseling.

HI Lybrate USER. A) apply mixture of honey and fresh juice of BASIL LEAVES on face, two times in a day. B) take 200 ml of fresh buttermilk and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals… C) take 30 ml juice of BASIL LEAVES and LEMON along with 10 ml of HONEY and 30 ml of water, early in the morning, on empty stomach. Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result. Consult to me for further suggestions. THANKS.

Complex Carbohydrates indigestion along with bacterial fermentation leads to production of intestinal gas. If excess foul smelling flatus bothers there are certain remedies to get rid of this problem, Avoidance of starch products like potatoes, pulses, legumes,onions, cabbage, broccoli, sprouts. Certain medications can control excessive flatulence. Some of the organisms like giardiasis can cause bloating symptoms. Treatment available for this. Consult if any further queries. There are some treatments but can't say up to what extent success rate can be predicted. Pl visit some good ayurveda hospital in your region. Inguinal hernia is repaired to avoid protrusion of intestine etc through the gap.

Anaphase Shampoo / VICHY DERCOS Energising (Anti- Hair Loss) Shampoo. Blood Test- Haemoglobin, Thyroid. If Bald Patches:- Tugain 5% Solution for application 1 ml at night for one month.

My daughter whose personal details I ve filled up, sometimes her heartbeat increases a lot .this happens almost once three four months. Today morning when she woke up she had a little food poisoning so she started vomiting n after that she said that her heartbeat had increased again. The vomiting issue is not related to that because it was because of something she had eaten but I am worried about the increased heartbeats it comes down after some time though.

Dear Lybrateuser, -The normal heart rate is 60-100/min, if it is more at rest then has to be investigated -your daughter could be having anxiety disorder & problem increases if she gets anxious or stressed by some event -she should do regular exercises like walking, jogging, play team games, yoga & deep breathing for 5-10 min which will be beneficial for her problem -also get her blood hb%, thyroid hormone level, ecg done to rule out any other problem.

It is good that you want to quit smoking. And it requires a lot of support from everyone around you. Taking help from de addiction centre is not as bad as it sounfs and really helpfull. Certain medicines help decrease the craving. Other than that motivation by means of councelling, quit smoking groups etc help a lot. There is nothing callef decreasing the dose, it is all or none law. Either you stop totally or you do not stop. Because even with least of doses it is very easy to come back to old schedule with slightest of precipitating factor. Psychiatrists and psychologists both have their roles in de- addiction.
