My mom is of 50 years old. Lab test: 1) CT scan of Abdomen and Pelvis: Impression-Mildly enhancing heterogeneous lesion in the right adnexa adjacent to the right lateral wall of uterus. Right ovary is not separately visualized .Lesion is seen extending below the muscular plane of anterior wall breeching the peritoneum. Features are suggestive of mass lesion -likely ovarian origin. 2) THE ULTRASONOGRAPHY OF ABDOMEN & PELVIS IS ALSO SHOWING THE SAME IMPRESSION. 3) Creatinine is showing 0.7 mg/dl 4) CA125 showing 10.10 U/ml. On the basis of above impressions please do suggest me how much will it cost for the treatment? And whether it is a ovarian cancer? Please do reply ASAP.

Dear Lybrate user, The reports are in a borderline zone. As she is perimenopausal, there is a risk of having cancer. For such cases we advise a MRI with contrast of the abdomen and pelvis and a test called as ROMA: which checks the CA 125, HE 4 and your imaging findings and calculates the risk of cancer. If it's borderline or high or if the patient has already achieved menopause, then surgical removal should be planned. This procedure can be done safely by laparoscopy (key hole surgery). By no means should a biopsy be done as if it's a cancer, biopsy can upgrade the tumour from stage 1 to stage 3 so avoid a biopsy at any cost.

It is better to eat them fresh ( as they have been plucked some days earlier than you bought them ). You can keep some fruits in the fridge for 2-3 days. Most of them lose their freshness in 2-3 days.

All fruits are good for diabetics, they have to be taken in moderate amounts and at proper time. Fruit juices are harmful as they raise sugar suddenly but fruits contain lot of fibre,raise sugar slowly.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. To prevent weight increase and then to loose it, you have to control hypothyroidism effectively. TSH should be brought down to about 3 - 4 mU/L. Then only all the symptoms will be in check. Plus efforts to loos weight will also succeed. There is no special diet needed. First is bring TSH to desired level. Then exercise regularly and take a restricted diet. Avoid sweets, junk foods, pastries, bakery items, all foods made out of maida and sweetened aerated drinks. Use more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. If you have any doubts please come back. Thanks.

Hi lybrate-user Everyone wants to reduce fat from some or other part of the body. And the most common problem area is the tummy. Here are 6 tips to keep in mind while you’re worrying about your belly fat: 1. Before you target your tummy fat, try to lose the extra fat around your abs by doing cardiovascular exercises that engage multiple muscles. Try circuit training that burns higher amount of calories in a shorter period. 2. There is no such thing as spot reduction when you have a lot of weight to lose. Instead, try to lose some weight, and once you are thin enough, focus on particular areas to get better results. 3. Get more sleep. If you’re not getting enough sleep and only concentrating on the exercises, you’ll end up over-exhausting yourself. This will do more harm than good. You will end up eating more to fight the lethargic feeling. Try to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep per night in order to win in the fight against belly fat. 4. Eat less sugar and calories. Belly fat is easily reduced with a controlled diet. Try to include more protein and fiber rich vegetables that will keep you full for longer, resulting in less snacking between meals. 5. Drink more water as this will keep you satiated and will prevent you from mistaking thirst for hunger. 6. Eat more fat to burn more fat. मासिक-धर्म में दर्द



चिकित्सा:

1. तारपीन: कमर तक गुनगुने पानी में बैठे और पेडू (नाभि) पर सेक करने के बाद तारपीन के तेल की मालिश करने से मासिक-धर्म की पीड़ा नष्ट हो जाती है।

2. बबूल: लगभग 250 ग्राम बबूल की छाल को जौकूट यानी पीसकर 2 लीटर पानी में पकाकर काढ़ा बना लें। जब यह 500 मिलीलीटर की मात्रा में रह जाए तो योनि में पिचकारी देने से मासिक-धर्म जारी हो जाता है और उसकी पीड़ा भी शान्त हो जाती है।

3. कालीमिर्च: कालीमिर्च एक ग्राम, रीठे का चूर्ण 3 ग्राम दोनों को कूटकर जल के साथ सेवन करने से आर्तव (माहवारी) की पीड़ा (दर्द) नष्ट हो जाती है।

4. अजवायन: अजवायन, पोदीना, इलायची व सौंफ इन चारों का रस समान मात्रा में लेकर लगभग 50 ग्राम की मात्रा में मासिकस्राव के समय पीने से आर्तव (माहवारी) की पीड़ा नष्ट हो जाती है।

5. रीठा: मासिकस्राव के बाद वायु का प्रकोप होने से स्त्रियों का मस्तिष्क शून्य हो जाता है। आंखों के आगे अंधकार छा जाता है। दांतों की बत्तीसी भिड़ जाती है। इस समय रीठे को पानी में घिसकर झाग (फेन) बनाकर आंखों में अंजन लगाने से तुरन्त वायु का असर दूर होकर स्त्री स्वस्थ हो जाती है।

6. मूली: जब मासिक-धर्म खुलकर न आए तब ऐसी दशा में मूली के बीजों का चूर्ण 4-4 ग्राम की मात्रा में सुबह, दोपहर और शाम सेवन करें। यदि मासिक धर्म बंद हो गया हो, कई महीनों से नहीं आया हो तो मूली, सोया, मेथी और गाजर के बीजों को समान मात्रा में लेकर 4-4 ग्राम की मात्रा में खाकर ऊपर से ताजा पानी पीने से बंद मासिक धर्म खुलकर आता है। मासिक धर्म की कमी के कारण यदि मुंहासे निकलते हों तो प्रात:समय पत्तों सहित एक मूली रोजाना खाएं।
मूली रज (मासिक-धर्म) और वीर्य पुष्ट करती है। श्वेत प्रदर के रोग को दूर करने में भी यह सहायक है।

7. अदरक: मासिक-धर्म के कष्ट में सोंठ और पुराने गुड़ का काढ़ा बनाकर रोगी को पिलाना लाभकारी होता है। ध्यान रहे कि ठण्डे पानी और खट्टी चीजों से परहेज रखें।

8. मेथी: रजोनिवृति के रोग में मेथी को खाने से लाभ मिलता है।

9. गुड़हल: 6-12 ग्राम गुड़हल के फलों का चूर्ण कांजी के साथ दिन में 2 बार सेवन करने से मासिक-धर्म की परेशानी दूर हो जाती है।

10. केसर: लगभग 1 ग्राम का चौथा भाग केसर को दूध में मिलाकर दिन में 2 से 3 बार पीने से मासिक-धर्म के समय दर्द में आराम मिलता है।

11. भांग: मासिक-धर्म के आने से पहले पेट को शुद्ध कर देना चाहिए, फिर गांजा को दिन में 3 बार देते रहने पर माहवारी (मासिक-धर्म) के समय दर्द कम हो जाता है और मासिक-धर्म भी नियमित होने लगता है।

Have you ever faced difficulty or experienced severe pain while defecation? Well, this is a widespread phenomenon amongst many, but most of them feel shy to discuss this problem. Different People differently understand the term Piles. For some, it is the name given to the uneasiness or pain that one feels during defecation and for others, it might be blood found along with feces. This notion is partially correct. Piles, also known as Hemorrhoids, are vascular structures that are present in the anal canal.

These vascular structures are like cushions that help with stool control. The problem arises when these structures become swollen. Post inflammation of hemorrhoids leads to the ultimate problem. Piles become painful which is unbearable for many while a few people don’t feel much pain but bleeding characterizes the disease. Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

Sir. I started medication in the second week of April and checked for the first time on 19th June. Tsh level-2.50.t3-1.03 and t4-11.64.my rbs level was 96. I am having a height 150 cm and weight 64 kg. I started walking 45 minutes in the morning. Ortho surgeon said that I have swelling on my shoulder muscle. Is weight gain a side effect? lybrate-user Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disease, where thyroid gland produces either less or almost nil thyroxine. This is an essential hormone for all the metabolic function in the body. When deficient it has to be supplemented daily for the whole lifetime. Hence the treatment is for lifetime. The levels mentioned are fairly normal. Same levels need to be maintained if you want to remain free from the symptoms. Plus looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 28.44 kgs/M2, you are considerably over weight. (normal BMI < 23 kgs/M2). Therefore, you need to exercise and also take restricted food intake. Further if you are planning for a conception, then TSH has to be maintained around 2 mU/L. Otherwise efforts to concieve may not succeed. Also check your PP glucose level. If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.
